Well, IDK about "so much worse now," but they have downgraded, there is no question. Losing a starting SF who hasn't reached his prime, our back-up PG & C...that is a better squad than losing all 3 and only gaining Trevor Ariza. However, the offseason isn't over yet.

Even if we aren't worse we definitely aren't better at this point. After getting Harden and Howard you should be making an improvement to the roster not a setback

Exactly. THAT is why this p-sses me off so much. Of course Parsons wasn't worth 15 mil. And yes, he would've killed any future cap flexibility for at least the next 2 seasons. But do you take your chances with Howard, Harden, and Parsons(plus Ariza and whoever else they sign) for the next couple years or do you essentially write off at least next season and possibly the following one just so you can retain enough cap room to land that mythical third star?

And don't tell me that next season hasn't been punted on. The Rockets will not win a championship next year with this core. And they're unlikely to finish with the 4th seed either given they're now worse than a year ago. So basically we're looking at another first round knockout(if we even make the playoffs in the loaded West) before training camp's even started. Great job, Les and Morey.

So do we wait for Boston to suck and let them dump Rondo on us for NO pick at the deadline?

Not mad about it, he's a solid player but 15 million a year is too much.

I wonder what the plan will be to replace Howard and Harden once they leave while we're hoping and praying for a 3rd star to fall into our laps. They won't want to waste their whole careers waiting on Morey.

There hasn't been an off season plan this good since Cuban broke up a championship squad in the hopes of signing a big name. How did that work out for him? Ridiculous.

Disagree with the opinion that all players should be treated as assets. I agree that treating players as humans may not prevent them from taking the more profitable contract, but it may help you on the negotiating table or giving current players and prospects a level of comfortability. It is a business, but players also have emotions and they don't forget. Being in constant trade rumors DO affect their play and it DOES influence their decisions towards a new contract, even if its ever so marginally. MONEY matters the absolute MOST, but to say that there isn't a layer of emotion involved is very myopic.

They act Like Dwight wasn't brought here to be the guy... We are not going to just waste this year. If Dwight and James play to the best of their abilities we already have a championship contender.

Nobody on the Rockets will get better. Nobody. 4th youngest team in the league, but they will not improve.

    The sky is falling!

not sure why everyone is panicking. ariza is a solid player and in terms of money, it just makes fiscal sense - i actually prefer him to CP. asik really didnt give us anything last season and we still won over 50 games. lin has always been expendable and too inconsistent to call it an asset.

losing the picks is the only thing that's hurting, but we have cap space room which offsets it.

If you are going to go from $900,000 to $15,000,000 at small forward you should expect to atleast get better ..... I guess,

You gotta think Les is pissed at the moment. Letting Parsons out of his contract a year early was a complete and total blunder, poor moves like that can potentially get GMs fired.

So far Jarmes Harden hasn't shown anywhere close to playing that way in the playoffs.

There is nothing championship contender about this current Houston squad.

Only reason I hate Bosh is he basically used us as leverage for that max contract. It was believed that we had him in the bag and then he just blue balled us last minute.

I can't even stand Parsons right now. Going to a rival, partying when signing that contract, talking trash during playoffs but not really backing it up. Dallas can have his stupid pump fake and flat shot along with that mammoth of a contract.
