    Clutchfans melts down!

This was the correct decision. The offseason isn't over. Calm down everyone.

They are not. Parsons is replaceable and the contract would've hamstrung the team from doing much beyond it.

    Breathe people...it's ok.

In Morey's book if you are a superstar, he will pay you the max. Otherwise, you are just another replenishable asset. Haven't you guys learned?

what?!?? They pushed the SPurs to 7 games last year, added Tyson Chandler and now Parsons. That to go along with Dirk and Monta....If that's going nowhere fast, where are the Rockets going?

But that's just it. They're not better. What is all that capspace being saved for? There's no star player who's available anymore this offseason. So we're hoping some desperate team wants to unload one on us at the trade deadline(and I don't know what we have that they'd want at this point), or Morey is already looking ahead to 2015 or maybe even 2016.

Look, I was ok with Morey and Les not adding the depth this team desperately needed this past season since they were a longshot to win the title and they wanted to maintain flexibility for this offseason. But what I am NOT ok with is to do this every year until they finally luck out and get that third superstar.

This is not the era of Yao and T-Mac where one or both of them were constantly on the bench in street clothes. Those teams were going nowhere, so I understood stockpiling assets and not taking on huge contracts(although refusing to tank for a higher pick still bugs me). But we have two superstars in their prime. You don't get opportunities like this very often. And I don't see how the Rockets front office can justify writing off an entire season the way they just did.

Smart move, we tend to get too attached and forget to look at the big picture. Solid player but won't get too much better, and at that price is he really a superstar sf that gives a big three? No. His defense has become below avg, scoring is streaky, and I was a bit concerned about lower back problems at 25. Ariza is a better defender, and just as streaky, more experienced, at 7 million less. That 7 can bring in another player which IMO together with ariza is more important. We didn't have a bench period last year, we can use that more than parsons.

I was under the impression that this was explicitly prohibited by the NBA. Any sign-n-trade involving a restricted free agent should've been done before the 72-hour time limit started.

    Or am I wrong?

Howard can opt out in two years and so can Harden (cap going up TV deal). I don't think Harden will leave but Howard could bolt. Especially with Phil in NYC.

Eventually you have to try to build a team and stop worrying about trades in the future.

Even worse? Could have gotten RONDO from the Celtics during the trade deadline, but Morey didn't want to give up Parsons. -_________-
