In my opinion, the only way it could be this quiet is if a trade is coming.

Get the Ariza S&T done, trade NO for Andersen, and match Parsons.

    That's all I expect today.

Don't think that is a good example. That Lin trade was horrible. A 1st and a 2nd for nothing? Only way it would have been good is if we got Bosh. As it stands, that trade was trash.

Jazz matched Hayward. So Hornets, Jazz, Mavs, and most likely Houston all agree that a Parsons-type is a $15m/yr guy. Lots of folks think Bledsoe, Monroe, & Lance Stephenson are going to get max offers. Jordan Hill got $9 million!

$15m/yr is Parsons market value, and he can be traded. He's really really good. A true starter. Lin is not a starter and was overpaid, yet was traded. We can trade Parsons.

Why is Les making you pay for some of the luxury tax???

By matching Parsons he isn't keeping another player off the team. Either we spend 15 mil for him OVER the cap or we don't sign him and we are a lesser team.

WE ARE MATCHING PARSONS PEOPLE GET OVER IT! SMH

Maybe the Rox front office is watching the World Cup before getting down to business?

    mebbe, mebbe no

I do think the Asik trade is bouncing around possibilities, even a mutual agreement to abandon the deal. I just don't know why it would take so long to swap 21 year old lotto player.

It could be that we have nothing to do that can be done. It takes a willing partner on the other side to make a trade. I hope it's for Goran Dragic, just don't see it happening.

    Yea I agree with this

If keeping Lin was keeping us from getting another player, I have no problem moving him

But as it worked out, keeping him wouldn't have kept us from anything and we lose the #1

Unless....something happens in next 7 hrs we don't know about, that's what we hoping for

I tried to watch it, I really did, but I got bored enough to come back to this dead forum.

I don't think you get it, Parsons contract takes us over the Cap, which means it represents more money we are allowed to trade with later. If we don't match then we have less money and assets to work with later. There will be a team with cap space who will be willing to take a young player like Parsons (Hornets, Jazz) and perhaps act as a partner in a three way trade with their picks going to the team of someone we want and Parson going to their team. This also makes Ariza expendable meaning we can trade him later and not lose a starter. If you lose Parsons you lose wiggle room and give the enemy a weapon and future trading piece depending on how good Parsons becomes that can be dangerous. Signing more players BEFORE we go over the cap and then signing Parsons is the smartest way to go. I'm no Cap guy but this is my understanding of it. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

This is my thinking exactly. We need to match. But we need to add another piece to maximize our cap opportunity before we match. There are not a lot of good FAs left, and Stephenson isn't an option. We need a PG or PF. I'm praying for a trade.

Mo Williams would be a nice backup pg and maybe even Chis Andersen because we definitely need another big.

lol, he represents the veteran pgs out there. We could use a veteran pg coming off the bench, otherwise Morey would have to rely on our youngins or try to find something in the D-league or Overseas that we can afford after today.
