Parsons diluted the lack of a coaching system with his play making but he's still not worth that much. He will flourish in Dallas under Carlisle something that wouldve never happened here.

    Yep. Reported by Woj.

Their only options now are Stephenson and Marion. Really hope someone comes up with a serious offer for Stephenson. I could see PHX getting in the mix.

At what point does Dirk start to look around and say...."uh, this ain't going to work."

Parsons is a three year deal. 3rd year is a player option, you can't expect him to opt out unless he played out of his mind. Chances are, he underperforms and then you get stuck with a third year of cap hell.

MLE can be two players and that Lin TPE should be Asik I think...can also be two players...even the BAE could be split.

I realize that, but like Asik, I expect there will still be a market for a young, multi-dimensional wing. At most it would cost you your 2016 1st to clear him, which will be in the bottom 5 of the 1st round.

Dallas will be able to get someone else rather they match Parsons now or tonight. They already said they'll go after Stevenson. Parsons or Stephenson = they ain't worried.

Morey should already be embarrassed for being in this situation. And no need to be acting childish and playing games and embarrassing our city even more. Sign Parsons, move on, and stop holding up my day...

Lol still holding on to the "fact" that fast paced teams don't play defense?

GS last year. 6th in pace. A whopping 0.3 possessions per game less than us was the 3rd most efficient defense. On top of that the clips and thunder also were a top 10 pace team with a top 10 defense.

Year before that there were a couple teams in the top 10 in both pace and defense. (Spurs and thunder)

It's just not true that teams that play with a high pace can't play good defense.

Just because in recent years Indy and Chicago who play at a snails pace have been great defensively and some of the extremely high paced offenses of the past played no defense doesn't make your assumption true.

There are teams that do it.

I believe it's true that Parsons can be developed better with a better coach because his potential is very high and Ariza's not. However I don't believe in blaming the strategy when it comes to a individual players weaknesses or failures. Parsons said he was the best small forward in a playoff series and after that he was schooled in every fourth quarter for the remainder of the series. Parsons will make sure his stats look good though but actually winning the game he disappeared outside the hustle rebound and layup late in game 6 before Lillard hit the three. Ariza is what he is and his playoff performances were great at times and at other times he was average but when he was hot he was hot. Did it against Bulls and Pacers. To me Ariza was more of a factor in the playoffs for his team then Parsons. Positive thing about Parsons is he has the opportunity to continue to grow more so then Ariza. Granted Ariza won a championship with Kobe and has proven he can show up when it counts.

    Grizzlies signed Vince Carter
    Rockets signed Trevor Ariza
    Wizards signed Paul Pierce
    Heat signed Deng
Pacers/Hornets have high chance of signing Stephenson

How glorious will it be when the Rockets match Parsons and the Mavs have no other option but to overpay to keep Marion?

It makes a difference. Players get tiered and Harden and Parsons do A LOT on offense. And what has GSW won...??? When the playoffs started they played at a faster pace. Ranked #1... And ranked dead last in defense. I would have fired Marc Jackson too because he's a Mickey Mouse coach just like McHale.

But like I told you before. The analytics never out weigh the tape. No matter how much you believe it does.

    pacers standing offer is 8.8M/yr

suns and hawks are also interested. 4 teams with max cap room but no max offers his way so far. dude should fire his agent already and get dan fegan on board.

Parsons should have kept his mouth shut but that has nothing to do with nothing even if I didn't like that he said that... But I believe at the end of the day Parsons is better.

Good coaching and system makes up for a lack of talent and or player deficiencies. Making adjustments, knowing what plays to run, substitutions, etc. But when your players don't show up when it counts _ change the coach and the system and try it a different way that may put them in a better position to succeed before you knock down young players. Jordan use to get kicked out in the 1st round too... And Chicago changed the coach.

Trevor played against Chicago in the 1st round and then Indy. Offensively none of those two teams are better than Portland and it's not like he shut down PG.

Trevor had a good year but I think that had a lot to do with Wall, Beal, and the system they run and him getting hot in a contract year.

But I didn't want the Rockets to have to pay Parsons $15 million. They shouldn't have let him become a free agent. Could have been spending that money else where.

Again. GS haven't won't anything because they ran a "Mickey Mouse" offense of just jump shots. No inside game. No one getting to the line. An inefficient offense. Unlike the rockets.

Analytics do not lie. You hear it every single year and it is proven every single year. The only real contenders are teams that are in the top 10 in offensive and defensive efficiency. There are no qualifiers that say you have to play at a certain pace or take a certain number of 3s or a certain number of midrange just have the end result as a top offensive and defensive efficiency team .The only things that matter to be a contender is to get the ball in the hole efficiently and prevent teams from doing the same.

This year Spurs, Clips and Thunder were the 3 to do this. Miami was just a hair off, 1st in offense 11th in defense, but you get the picture. These were the best teams. They don't play the same style. They don't play the same pace. They don't take the same number of 3s and mid range shots. What they do is end the season as the top teams in offensive and defensive efficiency.

Funny thing was we were actually in the top 10 of both for most of the season. We only dropped to 12th in defense once Howard was hurt for a stretch and Sampson took the UH job.

Do the rockets really expect ariza to play a full hard season and the playoffs? The answer is no. He will most likely come off the bench for his 3s and D when needed and parsons will most likely move to a stretch 4 or harden plays point and ariza SG

    We will match!
