That's why it's good to keep both around. Jones can't hope to ever defend the bigger PF's in the game and DMo struggles against the smaller, more athletic PF's. Use them as a platoon.

 

We don't want to waste another year with Harden and Howard. That's why we should match Parsons.

 

Parsons does not make the team better in 2014. That's what it boils down to. Throwing away 15 million dollars for a player who wants to be in Dallas is a waste of money. Exactly my point. Bringing in Ariza to take over the Garcia/Delfino/Casspi role upgrades the team, losing Parsons and relying on Ariza to take over for him downgrades the team. We have to keep Parsons if we want any chance at contending this year.

 

What good does Gasol do on a team that has Dwight Howard? Have you not seen that movie already?

 

Remember when we played Asik and Dwight together? Just imagine that, but in this case, Asik can consistently drain 15-20 footers.

 

So losing Parsons does make the team better?
What are you saving the money for? There is no guarantee that we will get KD or Love or whoever.

 

That's simply not true. With Parsons here, adding Ariza was an upgrade to our team, without Parsons here, adding Ariza was a downgrade. The Rockets have no chance next year if they go into the season without Parsons.

Howard has to play like Hakeem, harden has to play like glide, ariza has to play like Horry. Johnson like maxwell, jones like Thorpe.

We don't need parsons any more. Go rockets.

 

Who is wasting anything? Got Ariza. Use the spare cash and upgrade the bench. Still no backup center and a scrub at pg.

 

This is wrong. You only give the max to a guy who is at least:

1) An elite offensive player
2) An elite defensive big man
3) A great two way player who is is at least above average defensively.

We know parsons is not elite on offense or a big man. That leaves option three which is what gets wing players the max. I will be generous and call parsons a great offensive player even though his ball handling is shaky, his 3 point shooting (which is his bread and butter considering he gets many wide open looks off of harden and Dwight double teams) can go cold (unless he is wide open in transition), and he can't create his own shot inside or out.

Parsons used to be a good defensive player in his rookie year, but each season he has regressed. Last season he was below average. You do not give him the max. He is worth 8 to 9 mil if he has peaked, but since he is still young he may improve and we add 1-3 mil depending on how much we think he can improve after his contract year. So the highest he should get paid is 12 mil. Parsons is overpaid.

 

We should save it...juuust in case...aka....spin the wheels and hope. smh

Adding Ariza and losing Parsons for absolutely nothing is a downgrade.

After all the fail the Rox have had this off-season thus far, letting Parsons go would be the cherry on top (of epic fail)

Ariza is a downgrade from Parsons so if you don't keep Parsons around, you've made the team worse. You make the team worse, you waste a year of Howard and Harden.

 

That is not the case Bobby. The Rockets will put some quality players around Harden and Howard. If they let Parsons walk there are still good players out there that will make this team better. Shoots Ariza alongside H&H is pretty solid. All they have to do is acquire a back up PG like Nelson and a decent PF/C.

Shoots Boozer would a quality 4 we could pick up.

 

Ariza = parsons. And parsons looked bad vs Portland.
