After reviewing Ariza's stats, can't say he's a better shooter than Chandler have because he isn't. Trevor had a great season from 3 last year, but he's been crap mostly.

So now it's the backup small forwards fault that we didn't get by Portland... Lol.. I'm just surprised Trevor would come back here to be the backup. But I think they could have saved some money and went with Robert Covington though.

Close to home, Nice size market, not Suckahoma, and a point guard that looks to pass. But I'm sure several teams are keeping KD in mind while making moves... Westbrook as well.

Damn that 09-10 season seems like ages ago. I'm happy with the signing. Good value and he's a better player now than he was when he was here 5 years ago. It also helps that he's playing with two stars now unlike last time.

Durant to DC is more than likely. He grew up in Suitland MD, which borders DC. He loves DMV area and has friends and family here. He is loved here (I'm in the DC/MD area). If Wall and Beal continues to grow and OKC fail to win a title, DC will be his main suitor.

Yes, Ariza is a good (but not elite) 3&D specialist; the wing defender that many here wished for last season. See stats below:

Trevor Ariza vs Chandler Parsons: 2013-2014
Ariza holds three major advantages over Chandler Parsons. 1. He has a better 3ptFG% (40.7%) compared to Chandler’s (37.0%). 2. Ariza is a much better defender: [his DRPM (Defense-RPM) is +1.04, his DWS (Defense-Win Shares) is 3.7games, and his DefRtg is 101.2] compared to Chandler’s DRPM of +0.58, DWS of 2.5games, and DefRtg of 104.0. 3) Ariza is also a better rebounder (6.2 compared to Chandler’s 5,.5, with 4.9 of those 6.2 RPG coming on the defensive boards). These stats are consistent with a classic 3&D specialist and/or wing defender. Chandler does his damage on offense and this is reflected in several stats. 1. His NetRtg (Offense – Defense) of +4.4 (Rox are better by 4.4 pts with Chandler on the floor) compared to Ariza’s Net Rtg of +2.5 (Wiz was 2.5 ppg better with him on the floor). 2. His Win Shares (Offense) of 5.1games compared to Ariza's OWS of 4.3 games (even though Ariza's total WS of 8.0 games is better than Chandler's total WS of 7.6 games. 3. Chandler's ORPM and xRAPM (Off) of +1.37 and +2.14, respectively, is better than Ariza's ORPM and xRAPM (Off) of -0.13 and +0.43, respectively. 4. Chandler's WAR is also better; 7.57 (ranking 8th among the 77 SFs in the league) vs Ariza’s 5.42 (ranking 14th among the 77 SFs in the league. 5. Chandler also has a higher total RPM and total xRAPM than Ariza. My conclusion is that while both are both are good players with good value, there's not much between them. One is an offensve specialist, the other a defensive specialist. So replacing Parsons with Ariza (if that’s what Morey is after) depends on whether he wants more defense or offense. The better option would be to keep them both.

    Trevor Ariza: Games Played = 77; PPG = 14.4 on 11.1 FGA; FG% = 45.6; 3ptFG% = 40.7; FT% = 77.2; eFG = 56.2; TS% = 59.0; +/- = +2.5; PER = 15.87; RPG = 6.2 (with 4.9 DRPG); Blks = 0.3; AST = 2.5; TOV = 1.7; OffRtg = 104.8; DefRtg = 101.2; Net Rtg = +3.5 pts; WAR = +5.42 (14th amongst the 77 SFs in the league); WS = +8.0games; ORPM = -0.13 (ranked 29th among the 77 SFs in the league); DRPM = +1.04 (ranked 20th among the 77 SFs in the league); Total RPM = +0.91 (ranked 24th among the 77 SFs in the league); xRAPM (Off) = +0.43; xRAPM (Def) = +0.92; Total xRAPM = +1.35; Min = 35.4; Age = 29; Ht = 6’8’’; Wt = 220 lbs; Salary Cap Hit = $8M.

    Chandler Parsons: Games Played = 74; PPG = 16.6 on 13.3 FGA; FG% = 47.2; 3ptFG% = 37.0; FT% = 74.2; eFG = 53.8; TS% = 56.5; +/- = +4.4; PER = 15.90[/COLOR]; RPG = 5.5; Blks = 0.4; AST = 4.0; TO = 1.9; OffRtg = 110.2; DefRtg = 104.0; Net Rtg = +6.3 pts; WAR = + 7.57 (ranked 8th among the 77 SFs in the league); WS = +7.6 games; ORPM = +1.37 (ranked 11th among the 77 SFs in the league); DRPM = +0.58 (ranked 25th among the 77 SFs in the league); Total RPM = +1.95 (ranked 13th among the 77 SFs in the league); xRAPM (Off) = +1.99; xRAPM (Def) = +0.15; Total xRAPM = +2.14; Min = 37.6; Age = 25; Ht = 6’9’’; Wt = 227 lbs; Salary Cap Hit = Pending.

I hope y'all get him. I need him gone...

But I definitely believe he's not staying in OKC.

I'll see your points and raise you with one of his BFF's being on the Rockets, plus his collegiate ties to Texas, as well as the fact he's proclaimed Houston as his city on more than one occasion. Just sayin'.

Ariza at 8 million was really a steal. The Rockets got a great deal on a mid tier SF. Matching on Parsons essentially screws with the Mavs.

I'm never getting my hopes up in free agency again.
Durant can come out right now and guarantee he's going to Houston when his contract is up. Don't care. Will still be skeptical.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Last season, Harden and Parsons were among the league leaders in minutes played. Bima is on the money here. Ariza solves a HUGE problem by being able to take some minutes away from Parsons/Harden.
