I didn't bring up Lin, others did, and I was responding to them. I find it ironic that I'm having to defend Ariza, or make a comparison between Ariza and Lin (which is kind of ridiculous), when I didn't want to sign him in the first place. I'm merely attempting to find some positives in the return of a player I didn't like the first time around.

Who's going to be our backup SF? Casspi? Garcia? Covington?!?!?!
Kill me now. No, we match Parsons.

Parsons cannot and should not start at the 4! On occasion depending on match up, maybe. But definitely not full time.

LOL, Beverley earned the spot from Lin?? How would you like to explain that? After a couple of exhibition games?? BEv started over Lin because it was a better fit.

Assuming the Rockets can't find any legitimate 6th man off the bench, it's not a bad idea for Parsons to come off the bench. Just like Lin he'd have plenty of games to play 30+ minutes. Starters need more D....bench needs more O...it's a good fit.

Just cause he doesn't start doesn't mean he can't finish.

How much money do we have to play with now? Enough to sign a backup big-man? Veteran PG?

Agree, but that is only if they bring back Parsons. In that case Ariza would indeed be an upgrade over Caspi and Garcia, but then paying 4 years 32 million to Ariza to back up Parsons/Harden IMO doesnt seem to be the best use of your resources. Neither of those three are capable of even passably playing the 4 spot defensively.

If the Rockets are going to match Parsons, they should've instead focused on signing either Deng or Isiah Thomas. Yes Deng would be more expensive and would need the Asik trade to complete to sign, but he is also a better player and I'm a lot more confident in Deng guarding PF's than Parsons or Ariza.

Isiah Thomas fills a huge hole at backup PG or even starting PG where there currently resides canaan? dust? Patrick Beverley is a good solid player, but he's also known to get in foul trouble and get injured/worn due to his style of play.

I would like to see what Covington can do...just like we didn't know how Troy Daniels could contribute and we found out (albeit at the very end of the season) that his skill set fits our team to a T. We can see if his skill set can translate to the NBA and to our team. I understand why you want to have Parson's offer sheet matched, but if coach doesn't give these young guys some significant minutes now, Parsons will be run into the ground and not be anywhere as effective at the end of the season, when your main guys have to step up their game. And NOBODY here wants anything like that to happen to any of our main players.

Would be nice if we could get Jameer Nelson. Veteran point guard, can shoot the three pretty well, played with Dwight and has playoffs experience.

We also need a another PF/ C to back up Dwight and Jones. We all seen how light in the rear end Jones was, so he needs to be able to hold his own in the paint. Maybe Humphrey fits that bill.

Jordan Crawford would be a great addition to our bench.

    You're delusional.

Beverly played better than Lin as a starter. End of ****ing story. Why was Beverly a better fit? We had enough offense, with Beverly the starting line-up had balance. Beverly didn't just play some exhibition games...did you forget the playoffs? Lin was scared of his own shadow against OKC, he got hurt, Beverly started and things changed.

By moving Parsons to the bench now you have 1 creator in the starting line-up and NO DEFENSE on the bench. That is not balanced.

When Parsons didn't start, meaning he was hurt the offense suffered. Why? Parsons has other skills we need...he moves without the ball, as well as giving us the second creator.

    Starters
Lin out, Beverly in = balance
Parsons out, Ariza in = unbalanced

    Bench
Asik out, Ariza, Parsons in = NO LEAD IS SAFE!

Do it your way and it will take 1 quarter before everyone is complaining that the bench can't hold a lead, and how Harden handles the ball to often.

The starting line-up was great last year and will only get better with more games together, we needed a wing who could defend and shoot the 3. Ariza is that guy.

If we want Ariza to start, decline to match.

Isaiah is no longer available. Deng did not want to come here. Front office can only do what they can.

I like the Jameer suggestion. Howard may even whisper in Money's ear about it. But I'm waiting to see Canaan in the SL. He reminds me of the wolves Bobby Jackson.

The only connection that I see there is that Durant is an avid Redskins fan.
