Parsons is barely better than Ariza. Trevor is a better 3 point shooter and defender.

Remember this dunk like it was yesterday. One of the best dunks I've ever seen. Really liked him. Can't wait to see how he fits in the team.

I'd imagine he will want to go to a contender. Granted Washington might be one by then, but it isn't likely as long as LBJ is playing in the East. A lot can happen in two years in the NBA though. Hell, if Durant goes to Washington, then you possibly have the East being the more difficult conference than the West. Man that would be crazy.

Yea but we spent WAY too much time messin around with Bosh. We need to make atleast 1 or 2 of these moves this offseason. I'd like Ariza/Stephenson over Parsons IMO

I was joking when I said our big signing would be Ariza but I halfway felt this is where we would end up although I still hoped Lebron would choose us.

Never thought I'd see him again in a Rockets uniform but I'm okay with it. He's a good spot up shooter and plays good D. Something that Rockets really need.

I want Ariza slashing ability more than his 3's.

I'm sure he has it in him still.

Ariza is much better defender, better 3pt shooter, slightly better slasher to basket, much lesser of a passer than Parsons at half price. So, why matching Parsons?

What else do you want to use that money on? Might as well go with a bird in the hand vs. 2 in the bush.

Because we can either be capped out with Ariza and [Whoever] or we can be capped out with Ariza and [Whoever] and Chandler Parsons.

Don't match Parsons-->Team will likely be worse than last year
    Match Parsons-->Team will be better

Your average who-should-start debate is normally not that acrimonious as the Lin-Beverly fracas was. Hell, most Balkan civil wars have not been *that* strident.

I have mixed reactions to this signing. Does this mean we're not resigning Parsons? Or will either Parsons or Ariza come off the bench? Or are we deeply committed to Moreyball this year?

A true 3rd cog in '15 or '16. Not sure exactly how it works, but wouldn't Parsons' contract limit us in future years?

Ariza can back up both the 2 and the 3. He can also play in a huge lineup of:

    Harden/Ariza/Parsons/Jones/Howard

    or a smallball lineup of:

    Bev/Harden/Ariza/Parsons/Howard.

I basically see him in a very versatile 6th man role. I really don't see why we would let Parsons go unless we like losing in the first round and think depth is for p*****s.

I think Ariza comes off the bench. Which is a perfect role for him IMO- especially since Chandler and Harden played a lot of minutes and the offense died with them off court.

If we can get a center to protect the rim for 15 minutes a game, and upgrade the power foward spot- we'll be good. Losing Asik sucks, but we just need a fraction of a player like him to play when Dwight sits; so that be a wash.

We already know how the current starters are; and Ariza is a much better 6th man than Lin. Getting a floor spacing 4 improves the offense and allows us to move Jones to the bench if we can keep him.

Funny you cherry pick the only decent year Ariza has had since 07-08.

I've seen them both play - would be happy with each on other teams.
