We will sign Parsons but we will not and can not trade him now. Rondo would be a disaster here anyway.
I don't think Rondo would be a disaster here. He would bring the defense, championship experience, and toughness that this team needs.
even after Parsons is signed he would NOT be able to be moved until January..... <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-conversation="none" lang="en"><p><a href="https://twitter.com/Jonathan_Feigen">@Jonathan_Feigen</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/wayodelachica">@wayodelachica</a> I don't think Parsons can be traded until Jan. 15 due to his (what used to be called) BYC status.</p>— David Weiner (@BimaThug) <a href="https://twitter.com/BimaThug/statuses/488114626437971968">July 13, 2014</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Yep, and this^^^^ In the first year of this dallas contract he has veto power. There is also a trade bonus
Codman mentioned stat sheets in the past. I fully believe that Rondo is our target. I hope it's Dragic but I think it's Rondo.
The only way I can see a Rondo trade happening anytime soon is if we expand the Asik trade to include Boston. NO gets Asik, Boston gets the NO pick and either T Jones or D-Mo, and we get Rondo. I'm not sure that Boston will be able to get a better offer than that. The Rockets could also throw in Llull. Any trade involving parsons would have to wait until December, and as I understand it would have to have his permission.
Can yall relax? Maybe this is a young man that is new to basketball and doesn't understand the business side of operations and such??? Can we just calmly explain to him why this doesn't work and put away the flamethrowers??? Jeez Louis people...
if we're expanding the asik trade, it should be with the wizards and ariza to preserve our MLE and BAE. then use our trade exceptions to get another PF/backup C
After piling on how idiotic the idea is by virtue of being IMPOSSIBLE, watch DM use a trade exception, lotto picks, TJones and something else
That's one way to go and certainly has a lot of merit, but if you can pull off a deal for a Rondo or other big time point guard, I'd do it. I don't see us addressing the 4 anytime soon so we might as well max out in other areas. I was in favor of a Rondo trade around the deadline and would still love to see it happen. With that said, I think it would be hard to pull this off and fill out the rest of the roster too. But hey, that's why Morey makes the big bucks...
OK, maybe I am an idiot when it comes to technicalities, but Parsons is not under any kind of "permanent" contract at the moment. We cannot "agree" to match with under the provision that he would be traded? If there is a loophole, Morey will find it. If not, I still think we could go after Rondo. Decline on Parsons & offer Beverly, & Pelicans 1st next year & fillers for Rondo. Rondo Harden Ariza Jones D12 That a huge upgrade over last year IMO.
