It'll be Ariza coming off the bench, not Parsons. Right?

That's just MJ staying true to his Carolina roots, silly.

My thoughts exactly. One of the bigger underachievers of the last 10 yrs. what a bum. Still getting paid though. What the hell are they thinking in Charlotte?

Probably so, but it wouldn't be funny if they got swapped

I'm not the best person to ask, but IMO the best move would be to try to get the Asik deal done before tomorrow night, which would clear up more of our capspace. Then use that capspace to try to sign someone else to a similar kind of deal that Ariza got, and then match Parsons. After that we would have to fill out the rest of our roster with minimum signings and possibly the room exception.

What will be interesting is if we could figure out a way to make the Ariza signing a S&T instead of an outright signing, and (I think?) that would allow us to keep our MLE after matching Parsons. That would be great, but that would be harder to pull off in the limited time we have before we have to match Parsons

Similar problem to the Lin/Beverly situation. Arizas 3s and D quality would make him a better fit next to Harden and Howard and Parsons would provide an offensive spark and some playmaking ability off the bench. Still I don't think we would let our 15 million dollar guy come off the bench. But it'd be an interesting scenario.

Either way, both will play >30 minutes each night. The good thing is, that neither Harden nor Parsons need to play 40 minutes anymore. They can both be capped at 35. That gives Ariza 26 minutes right there. Now Parsons will play at least 5 minutes at the 4, Harden perhaps 5 at PG and that would give Ariza 36.

The question is just: where does Troy Daniels fit in? Backup PG? What about Canaan and/or Johnson then?

They had a good year last year. Williams played with Jefferson the year before (IIRC). And maybe their coach gets something out of Williams that Corbin (or whoever the j*zz have coaching them now) couldn't.

Safe signing. Not near as boneheaded as that Gordon contract (that they willingly traded for).

Ariza shot 3 pointers at a 41% clip last season and can play decent defense.

Whats not to like this signing at $8M per year, which given what the other guys are going for, is a STEAL?

He hasn't learned his lesson because Morey should be in charge of the accounting department (analytics department) instead of the team _ and we have a cheap coach.

Sure thing, there is NOT a state income tax in Florida, just like there is NOT a state income tax here in Texas. Only federal taxes apply in some states, like both Florida and Texas.
