    He almost surely had to have taken less to come here. Which is a welcome change this offseason. It's almost as if he doesn't realize how highly tradeable his contract is and how trade happy our GM is... he's not finishing out that contract here. I'd be shocked. We can definitely use his services right now though. But PG and PF need attention.

    I like the deal, especially with all that has happened. Before we match Parsons, hope we can get a legit big 4, and maybe a PG (even though I am intrigued by seeing Canaan or Johnson, gotta let the young guys get some burn).

    I realize some people are just not going to be happy. We could have gotten LBJ and there would still be people complaining.

    Melo is going to be right up there with Kobe for the highest paid players in the league. It won't be a terrible contract for the next year or two, but by the time he is 34 or 35, that is going to be way too much money. All of that for a player who has never had that much playoff success is a lot of money, especially for the Knicks who have been operating under such a financial mess for so many years.


    He is a great player, and I can understand how people think he is worth that. IMO, I think that is still slightly too much for him.
