I personally think Jones is about to have a breakout year but would feel much better about our Championship potential if he was a back up. Boozer is the first name that comes to mind for outside help. What other options are there?
One of the following - Anderson, Young, Ilyasova or Smith. I'l copy and past what I posted in another thread. Not really, watch for the Asik to the Pelicans deal expand into a deal to get us a PF. Whether it be Anderson, or possibly Young or Ilyasova. It also doesn't have to be a 3 way trade. We can complete the Asik for Gee, Ely, Babbitt, Withey and 2015 first trade. Then package Gee, Ely, Babbitt, Powell, Casspi and Covington are all together (all not guaranteed contracts), along with a pick, possibly Motiejunas for Young or Ilyasova. While doing this we could keep Withey to be our backup center. Now Josh Smith is also a option, we could package the expiring contracts, along with Jones, Canaan and Motiejunas for Smith in a separate trade. Or we could turn the Asik to Pelicans trade into a 3 way with Asik to Pelicans, Smith to Rockets, unguaranteed contracts and Motiejunas to Detroit. Beverley/Brooks/Canaan Harden/Daniels/Johnson Parsons/Ariza Smith/Jones (Ilyasova, Young, Anderson or Smith) Howard/Withey Would be a very improved team from last season. We would have filled our PF spot, backup wing spots, and replaced Lin (Brooks or Nelson) and Asik (Withey or Ajinca) with serviceable cheap players.
How are you "TheRealAllPro" but don't know there's 5 positions in basketball? (J/k I know what you meant)
My guess: TJones. Still some more options though. Boozer if he is amnestied. Ilyasova is a possiblity. Anderson as well. Millsap is a pipe dream. And it actually might be Parsons. Or who knows, maybe DMo finally gets it...
I think Jones will start. But still holding out on the slight possibility of Ilyasova. Not a fan of Ryan Anderson because of his injuries. And don't see any other possibilities out there. If Parsons complain about coming off the bench, Morey will just tell him to go **** himself.
I don't get why everyone is so down on Jones. It was basically his rookie year, and he flashed alot of talent. Hell even Chris Webber said that Jones could be an all-star caliber player
I see Ariza coming off the bench if we match Parsons. Ariza can play SG and SF. If Harden and Parsons both player 35 minutes a night that leaves 26 for Ariza. We could also have Parsons play 5 minutes at the PF a game playing small ball, giving Ariza 5 more minutes at the 3 spot. Giving him a total of 31 minutes a night. SG/SF/PF rotation Harden(35)/Ariza(13) Parsons(30)/Ariza(18 Jones(28)/Motiejunas(15)/Parsons(5) Don't even need to re-sign Daniels unless we either let Parsons walk or choose to give him major playing time at the 4 (which I wouldn't be a fan of).
Perhaps. To me it doesn't matter too much. But I'm of the opinion that Ariza and Harden should share court time as much as possible.
