this is the one guy on the list i was scared about. doesn't he always do well in contract years? you know, like the last time we signed him?

hopefully he's a more mature player now. if he can be the ariza of last year he will add real wing defense and shooting.

now that we went under the cap to sign ariza, we won't have TPE from asik and lin deals... we wont have MLE or BAE... so if we match parsons, we are pretty much done for the off season aside from minimum deals and resigning daniels.

I agree, getting deep at 3 positions beats getting good at 1 position (Bosh) and no bench(see spurs if you disagree, and don't come back with the coach thing)
I say sign Birdman,Blatche, troy and Parsons and go to war.

    Signed Ariza (Lin's salary)
Resign Parsons (can go over cap)
Get Birdman (MLE or vet min)
Add Anderson in trade for Asik.

wing defender and 6th man: check
Glue guy and young SF: check
    back up C: check
    stretch PF: check

    contender

I really believe this - Parsons in Dallas under Carlisle will be the superior defender over Ariza. Parsons has the tools, toughness and competitive fire to be a good defender. Carlisle (if he gets his hands on him) is going to turn Parsons into a much, much better defender.

I would love to see us sign the birdman as a backup.

I'm a pretty big fan of trying to sign Okafor. He is coming off a major injury. But maybe because of that, and because he is from Houston, he would be open to signing a minimum deal to play with us?

IT would be a little bit of a flyer- no one has seen him play in awhile and we don't know what kind of shape he is in. But if he can return to how he used to play, it would be a great defensive big off of the bench.

Superior defense than Parsons, not much worse on offense, and at nearly half the price? Great.

So clearly the Rockets want to be players in the Durant sweepstakes.

I say, sign Paul Pierce with the rest of our cap space to a two year deal and match Parsons. You have to hope Howard and Parsons opt out of their deals, but it could still work.

i kind of hope he does. with bosh scrweing us sideways i think we should hold on to him until the right deal comes along. since we don't have to move him for cap space.

You mean length? Because I don't see a player blocking basketballs with their face in the league. LOL.

Poll question is too... simple? I like the signing, in a bubble, but it's circumstantial - based on the fair salary. I don't like it when we were aiming for Bosh, when we might lose Parsons and could have just held him to another year, I don't like it considering (and if) we lose Asik + Lin + Parsons for just Ariza.

    Poll is too vague.

Last time we signed him, we were asking him to be one of the primary ballhandlers and scorers on our team. That is not and never will be his strengths.

This time, with Harden and Howard, we will ask him to play good perimeter defense, shoot some open 3's and use his athleticism to get out on some fast breaks. Those are his strengths.
