Decent signing for the price. Could he really not get anything more elsewhere? And a declining scale no less.

Now I'm split on whether to match Parsons, or see if we can find someone else to upgrade the team instead.

[rQUOTEr]The Houston Rockets have agreed to a four-year, $32 million deal with free agent small forward Trevor Ariza, according to a person with knowledge of the deal. The person spoke to USA TODAY Sports on the condition of anonymity because the deal had not yet been announced.

Ariza was being heavily courted by the Washington Wizards team that he played for last season but ultimately decided to join Dwight Howard and James Harden on the Rockets team that went 54-28 last season and fell in the first round of the playoffs to the Portland Trailblazers.

The Rockets have until Sunday to decide whether or not to match Chandler Parsons' three-year, $46 million offer sheet from the Dallas Mavericks, and it appears they are still considering doing so. Rockets general manager Daryl Morey is intrigued with the idea of using Parsons as a stretch power forward at times and increasing the team's depth with the Ariza/Parsons approach.

I think he's gonna look good playing off Harden & Dwight

    He played fantastic last year.

    40.7% from 3 & a respectable 45.6% FG overall on 14.4 pts & 6.2 rebs

Let's hope he can duplicate it. I think he can.

I like Ariza in a supporting role, his 3 point shooting was amazing last year. More importantly: another player to get pissed at Harden for letting his man get passed him. I predict a lot of incredulous looks directed at Harden this season.

Exactly, his all-round game is what we need off the bench, when the primary playmaker is not on the floor and we need one player to orchestrate the offense a bit and provide us with the ability to score.

This starting five doesn't need a third all-star or all-round guy, Ariza is a perfect fit next to the other starters.

Can he guard Durant and Lebron? Then he will immediately make our team better.

If you ask me, Parsons is the one who should be bulking up to becime the stretch four. AFTER we match him. :p

ariza is the perfect 3 and D. now we can trade casspi, covington, hamilton. or keep either covington or cisco.

all we need is LOVE after this. and were set for the finals run. PF left!

I think wizards were cap strapped so we took advantage of that. Miami went with Deng. and Dallas tied up their cap space with the offer sheet to CP. dallas only had 2.73M to sign VC and he went for 2 years @ 4 mil ha ha ha F the mavs.

    The guy was 14.4/6.2/2.5

    46% FG and 41% 3 point

    Plus solid D.

I'd take this at half the price compared to Parsons

I sure hope so! We all know what happens to 3 point shooters when they come to the Rockets.. All of sudden they forget how to shoot.

Well as long as it means that Cuban is pissed by our deal, it's a win. a moral win. but a win.

Im with you, I would still keep parsons since it doesn't matter if we match, run him off after yr 2 if it comes down to it "he wasn't loyal", get a young hungry guy to back up ariza through draft..... Ariza must really wanted to be here he could've got more, I like that we're getting better defensively and toughfer

    Howard -lockdown D/
    Stretch 4/ jones
    ariza - lockdown D /parsons
    harden/ Troy
    bev -lockdown D/

$10-12 more to work with, let's go morey !
