The idea of a former Utah Jazz player wearing our jersey... *shudders* I guess he'll give us more consistent/reliable production from the 4 spot.

Mirotic isn't a Eurotrash player. He is the best player on the best team in the Euroleague. He could be a catalyst in either a) getting Kevin Love or b) getting Sergio Llull to come over.

Again, it wouldn't be Boozer that saves our offseason. It's flexibility and possibly more assets. Chicago almost certainly would have to add an asset. Gibson, Butler, Mirotic, a pick - something. Plus, after matching Parsons our wiggle room would be gone. With Boozer we wouldn't only have some assets to go after stars like Rondo or Loeve (NOLA pick, eurostash guys, young players) but we'd also have the expiring contract to make the numbers work and maybe also take on a bad contract.

Basically Boozer would mean Morey has a lot more to work with the coming year.

And Boozer may be an overpayed jerk, but he has a great midrange game, is a very good rebounder and can play ok defense next to a defensive center. He will improve our starting five and might be inclined to stay with us next offseason and sign for low money.

Why is this such a bad thing?

Carlos Boozer means a couple of things:

    1. We are still a contender. Boozer isn't terrible, just overpaid. He has a pretty good mid-range shot, yet his defense isn't that great. He is very experienced, especially in the playoffs, and will be able to at least keep a body on the elite Pf's in the West. Worst comes to worst, Harden, Jones, Parsons, Beverley get better by the end of the season, and we get chemistry.

    2. This makes us players in the 2015 free agency pool He is a $16 dollar expiring, which means we can sign a free agent next year. This can be a second chance of getting Love or something if he doesn't get dealt. Have any of you seen the free agents for next year.

    3. We're getting something else in Return Getting Boozer isn't necessarily a reward in the eyes of people, so we're probably getting Dunleavy or some assets in return.

    4. This puts us in prime position to trade for a star midway thru the season Say we get him, he doesn't mesh well with the team, blah blah blah... After December, He becomes probably the best expiring contract in the league, and we will have plenty of picks and assets to wrap along with him.

Don't need room. Can add Casspi, Powell, and Hamilton or Garcia re-signed to deal and trade for Boozer straight up.

Unless we flip all the other expirings for player morey likes and have room to take on a horrible contract that comes with them.

Gibson is likely a pipe dream.

Idk who else the Rockets would be after.

Yup, means there has to be more to this deal than non-guaranteed contracts. And Boozer unlikely atm.

IF we are not getting Boozer I am excited as to what we would get.

Boozer just makes sense. We would be filling a need while still keeping our cap flexibility for next year

If we where going to be able make room for Bosh's deal. We could make the space for Boozer.

If we don't do that it means Morey has another plan in the works.
