Can you explain the infatuation with Rondo on this team? The guy can't shoot. What is it he offers that is so much better than Beverly? I'm not trolling, I really feel like I must be missing something for so many to want him.
You think Jordan is a better owner than Alexander. http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/8...failure-owner-charlotte-bobcats-espn-magazine
As soon as Parsons signed that offer sheet the Rockets started looking for cheaper and LES alternatives. Does that sound like a guy who was trying to keep Parsons? If Bosh would have chosen Hou.....Parson was not gonna be matched. How do I know that? Because Pierce/Deng/Ariza all immediately became options. And now that bosh has moved on.....The rockets are trying to land Ariza. Why is that?
They want the name. It is like buying Tylenol over the off-brand acetaminophen. Rondo does pass and rebound better than Beverley but I think Beverley will improve on that next year.
I wouldn't give up the farm to get him. Or Rubio. I just think they would both fit. How much of an upgrade would they be over Beverley? I'm not sure. I think they'd both be an upgrade over him in passing, but honestly, I think Bev is fairly comparable in other areas. I think he is vastly underrated as well. And he brings the toughness and glue that this team so desperately needs. So basically, I don't feel they are significant upgrades over Beverley, especially as how he is probably my favorite player on the team. Actually, I don't think there is any probably about it. I just feel they are enough of an upgrade to get us over the hump a bit. But like I said, I wouldn't want to trade for them, most likely, as we would have to give up too much for them. But they'd definitely fit in well here. Love me some P Bev, though.
I love Beverly's tenacity and toughness. I also love Rond's ability to run a team, get players easy baskets, and his rebounding/D. I think Rondo can help Howard/Harden become that more dangerous. He is a triple double waiting to happen. Oh and lets not forget his championship pedigree
Watch his playoff tapes, dude's clutch as hell just as nasty as Bev on D while less foul prone. Awesome rebounder and team leader, probably the best passer in the league excellent PnR player. Would bring the best out of Harden, this team needs another playmaker. Harden wouldn't have been so bad in the playoffs if we didn't just pass him the ball and expect to create every time. Rondo would make everyone better getting them open shots.
I agree all around. Someone capable of handling the ball late in games and taking the ball out of Harden's hands at times would be great. I also think Rondo helps the Rockets when leads are being blown because, he would settle the ball down and get the offense in order....instead of just running down and jacking up threes.
Don't get me wrong, I agree with everything both of you said. I would gladly take Rondo on this team. The question here is, who do you trade to get Rondo? Lin is gone, Asik (I understand hasn't been completed yet) but is as good as gone. I don't think it is feasible to get Rondo given the situation we are in right now. Plus he has been hurt, and he would be a rental for a year if he doesn't resign.
Like I said in a previous post yesterday. Looking more and more like Ariza. I dont think Morey is going to give up future flexibility by matching CP. That is a personal opinion!
