Ariza plays better D than Parson, though Parson has intangibles, but those intangibles went out of window when he took that picture with Cuban
why wouldn't he be a better defender in 3 years? what in his body type or age indicate he would have a vast fall off? What in Parson's defensive play indicates he's trending upwards? I'm firmly of the opinion that Parson's is the player he's going to be. Plus offense, great glue, mediocre to bad d. In many ways, Ariza is the same player just flip the skill set. Plus defense, great glue, mediocre to bad o. Difference being, he now brings a plus 3 pt shot to this team which offsets some of the bad offense. Factor in a more favorable contract and ability to strengthen the team at other areas and it's a no-brainer. I wouldn't bring in Ariza and match Parsons. Too much $ at 1 position and would require Harden logging heavy minutes as the point guard to show any return on that type of investment at the 3.
I don't think he will. No doubt he's made some blunders this offseason... but he's not one to forget the last time we overpaid for Ariza and the suckage it brought.
In no way am I saying I WANT Ariza, but it's funny to me at all the discussion regarding "the first time". Do you guys remember the things that were being said the first time we signed him? The big thing was he'd played well as a ROLE player for the Lakers, but we were hoping he'd be able to take his game to the next level and become a go to guy/#1 or #2 type option. He's SOLID as a complementary player. Still plays excellent defense and isn't near as streaky of a three point shooter as he once was. In this offense with Dwight and James, he will or at least should be much more effective, and efficient, than he was during his first time here. As a couple have mentioned, what was one of our big needs last year? Better depth and a 3 and D type guy. Ariza definitely fits that mold. We played with Casspi at the 4 quite a bit early last year. Who knows for sure if we are not matching Parsons if we sign Ariza. I'll withold judgment until I see what Morey's entire (backup) plan is. Again, I'm not by any means saying I want him (especially OVER Parsons). I'm just pointing out the circumstances are entirely different this time.
If we were going to trade Harden for Love then I would rather sign Lance Stephenson. Stephenson is younger and a lot better than Ariza. Although he is a nut. Beverly Stephenson Parsons Love Dwight

Lmao you're the main one b****ing that the Rockets need to go after role players not stars. Pick one and quit complaining.
Ariza is a solid 3 & D guy. He would fit perfect. You guys gotta remember he's not going to be a top option like he was in his last tenture.
I don't think in five years Chandler will be worth that contract. He can create his own shot offensively but he's gonna be making more than Harden. Harden is a two time all star with nba finals experience, do you know how ridiculous that is?
