We can sign Wes Johnson for the vet min and keep Parsons. That would be better than this Ariza gimmick Morey is trying to pull.

Better band, bigger aspirations. Anyone have any news on the Asik trade? Is it done or pulled?

This. I'm tired of the constant turnover and flipping talent on this team. This squad brought us 54 wins and a few stupid mistakes (and poor coaching) from the second round. Keep the core intact and look for better role players. Fill out the bench, then match Parsons. And for crying out loud, bring in a coach that can help this team defensively.

I think the point should be that a guy who was only maybe the 6th best player on a MUCH weaker Rockets team isn't a guy we want starting on this Rockets team. Going Ariza and losing Parsons pretty much kills the season.

he kind of took 15 shots to get those 15 points, which i was always amazed at how good he was at taking a shot considering that martin, scola, brooks also took their shots.

15/6/4 and Martin wasn't there yet until the trade deadline, Lowry wasn't Lowry back then.

But yeah I'd be disappointed in an Ariza signing as well.

still pending...will probably go forward but now there are more options on the table on how to complete the deal. First the Pelicans needed to clear cap space since Houston couldn't absorb any more salary but now that Bosh (boo) reneged, there are other options like including more players in the deal or facilitating a 3rd team trade etc...

It's not about whether Ariza is better than Parsons. Signing Parsons ostensibly makes our salary cap 15 million dollars higher than it would be if we did not sign him.
You HAVE to sign him. Otherwise you are basically saying Ariza is better straight up than PArsons. If not, then sign someone else and then sign Parsons.

I am 100% sure that if Ariza was never here the first time most fans here would love this potential signing.

Ariza brings defense, some hustle, and can knock the three down.

More importantly he won't command 15 million per year. If we get him for 10 mil for 3 years this is a good deal.

Spend the remaining cap on much needed depth.

lol I guess with one scapegoat gone, we need to bring back our old scapegoat.

Ariza was hated here last time he was a Rocket.

this...we don't gain much by not signing Parsons salary cap wise. If we sign Ariza we HAVE to sign parsons..

    sign Ariza
    resign Parsons
add Anderson in the Asik deal

We get a defensive wing, add a PF and keep our SF. I'd be happy with this (of course, Ariza would have to be ok with a 6 man role)

Yup 14 shots to get 15 points. The season is pretty much over before it starts if we downgrade the SF spot like that without seriously upgrading anywhere else.

    Something else to consider, guys.

If we sign Ariza AND match Parsons. .....with Vince signing in Memphis and Deng likely signing in Miami....WHO is left for Dallas? Aminu??? :)

If we sign Ariza and match Parsons, then Ariza will be this year's Asik.

If we end with Ariza as a starter I won't defend Morey. That's a terrible move.

    Yuck. Been there, done that.

When he was in the H last time, he wasn't worth what they paid him..

Contract years are something aint they?

Play hard..get the money...and then do the Cato coast.

He's the same dude he was then and some want him back? smh

Just match Parsons and keep it moving.

    Parsons is better than Ariza.
