he shot .407 from 3 last year, significantly better than parsons at 37 percent. with better D, cheaper, and basically the same player on the fast break, he still fits better. we can do without chandlers decent play-making for better D and better spot up shooting.
I think every move we do from now on will have to have team flexibility like early options or trade clauses that favor tam over player.
Ewww ... I'd rather go after Wesley Johnson. They practically do the same thing, only Johnson would be cheaper.
yeah...for one year, in a contract year. i'm not saying he's a bad player. I'm just saying there is no way he'll be worth what he'd have to pay him, and he doesn't have much of a track record of consistency. I'll give you that he's a defensive upgrade.
NOOOOOOOOOO The crazy part is, I actually see this happening and Morey saying with a straight face they feel Ariza has learned from that 09-10 year and they did too, he was not meant to be a first option but as a third option he's great, shot over .400 from three blablalblalbla!
Couldn't we sign Ariza for depth & still match Parsons? What's the downside to that? Of course, I'm going to be realistic & assume Ariza won't want to come here.
Exactly, it's ****ing embarrassing how lazy Harden is on D, I had almost forgotten until seeing that vido clip...
This is why I say that Harden/Parson thing needs to be broken up... in this video Harden was terrible. Ariza will hit open threes now imagine him with Dwight and Harden... wow. If we were a more disciplined team with a more disciplined coach I would be more against Ariza but since we play free for all ball I'd wouldn't mind Ariza and not matching Parsons. Parsons getting paid too much to be pretty screw that let's get players that can D up especially if we going have Harden out there.
Psh, not impressed. Took Ariza the whole game. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/wwZdoevq3E4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Only took Parsons one half.
I would only accept an Ariza signing if it's for depth purposes, otherwise hell no. The guy is a major downgrade from Parsons. Parsons 14 mill > Ariza 10 mill
Downside being we can't sign F/As next season.. or the season after if we get Ariza.. we can Sign Ariza and Nelson In: Ariza, Nelson and Camby Bev/Nelson Harden/Daniels Ariza/Covington Jones/DMO Howard/Camby Leaving 2 roster spots for Nick Johnson and another Big that can help out the injury plagued center or who can be somewhat serviceable at PF(defend) Try to make trades and nab a new crop of FA's next season I'll rely on Moreys scouts to find that 3rd back-up much like he found the Bev or is it possible to trade Canaan for a scrub type big ala Cole Aldrich-like? WOn't be fancy but a big body we can throw out from time to time
Ariza is **** on the break. The guy doesn't finish. I'm fully aware of what he did from the 3pt line last year. A contract year. He's never shot that well before. Look how he shot from the right side of 3pt line. 30-33%. Parsons, with coaching, which you might see in Dallas - is going to be significantly better. But this isn't about Parsons. I understand if we let him walk. It's about Ariza. If he's starting at SF next year or we swapped Lin + Asik for Ariza... we are a worse team. Ariza is a guy you ADD when you have Parsons and Asik. He's not moving the needle as we're currently constructed. If he comes, just wait. Just a matter of time before we're reminded of who he really is. Signing Trevor Ariza to a team that loses Asik and possibly Parsons is a terrible failure.
