Maybe just make it a 3 team trade involving Minny? Minnesota IN: Boozer, Mirotic, T Jones, D Mo, CHA 1st, NOP 1st Chicago IN: TPE, clears space for Melo Houston IN: Love, Martin
We could get a 8 million TPE from the Lin deal. We could flip the TPE plus Motiejunas and a asset for one of - Smith, Young, Ilyasova, Anderson. Then execute the Dragic deal. We would also have our MLE and BAE in that scenario. So lets say we sign Marion to a 2 year full MLE deal, re-sign Daniels with BAE. Dragic/Beverley/Canaan Harden/Daniels/Johnson Parsons/Marion Smith/Marion/Covington Howard/Ajinca Roster is arguably better then Roster that we would have with Bosh.
Okay, we should use Lin's cap space to absorb the Bucks' Ilyasova. I'm sure they'll be wanting to get out of his contract and the Rockets would be a good fit for him. Good 3 point shooter over his career, and a good defensive rebounder. A poor man's Kevin Love.
Chicago may have convinced Gasoline to take MLE because Melo is still on fence and still looking for Bulls to make Max offer or as close as possible. Morey knows that Bulls will need to clear more than Boozers contract to sweeten the offer to Anthony. That means Gibson, Butler as well as rights to Mirotic are ripe for the taking. If Morey can pull this off then Rockets just hit the frikkin jackpot!!
Now that the Bulls are getting Gasol... Houston in: Gibson, Dunleavy Chicago in: Cap space, picks Then match Parsons. C - Howard, Motiejunas PF - Gibson, Jones SF - Parsons, Dunleavy SG - Harden, Daniels PG - Beverly, Canaan
Rather have Butler over Dunleavy. Don't think Morey will give up picks to facilitate a Melo acquisition, so picks or player rights (Mirotic) will be going the other way.
Highly doubt that Butler is available, seeing as Melo is staying in New York. I'm cool with Dunleavy coming off the bench.
Rocket's should use Cap space to make a trade for Josh Smith The Pistons are about to give Greg Monroe big money, they won't be able to afford paying Smith and Monroe to play the same position. We should use the draft pick from the pelicans to trade for Smith (fits in our cap space). We would then have about 4-5 million to sign a bench player. Match Parson's at the last minute and then use the MLE to sign a back up center. Smith doesn't provide the perfect floor spacing like Bosh, but we had no problem scoring last year, defense was our issue. Smith/Howard front line would be terrifying defensively. Beverly, Harden, Parsons, Smith, Howard is a great starting 5.
If we strike out on all better deals. Sign Trevor Ariza to 3 years 30 million. Match Parsons offer sheet for 3 years 46 million Trade Lin, Rockets 2015 first, future second for cash considerations and rights euro player Trade Asik, Motiejunas for Anderson and rights to swap 2016 first round picks. Sign Blatche 3 years with the third year being a team option, sign Brooks or Jameer Nelson to veteran minimum Beverley/Brooks Harden/Ariza Parsons/Ariza Anderson/Jones Howard/Blatche Call it a offseason, solid improvements.
With the Ariza signing: (I posted this in an other thread but this were it belongs) Harden to the Suns ...for... Bledsoe (S&T), kieff Morris, Plumlee & 2 first round picks and DMo & 2nd round pick to the 6'ers ...for.. McDainle and Grant Bledsoe / Bev (strongest postion on team now) Ariza / Johnson (solid) Parsons / Ariza (rookie from DMo trade or Corvinington) Morris / Jones (Jones motor & play is more 6th manish and Morris has nice hands and a knock down jumper = spacing plus he can finish at the rim, too) Howard / Plumlee (rest Howard, can shoot FT and protect the rim) All 5 starter are 2 way players PLUS the bench is strong with Bev / Jones / Plumlee / Johnson. The 9 man rotation is a lot better than last years Over all a better TEAM than last year
