1. Reneg the New Orleans deal and retain Asik 2. Package a deal with Asik, and TJones, for Milsap 3. Resign Parsons by deadline... Starting Line up: Dwight Milsap parsons Harden Beverly
3 way trade with Rockets, Suns and Pelicans Houston in - Dragic, Ajinca Pelicans in - Asik, Goodwin Phoenix in - Gordon, Jones Add in picks, and euro players as sweeteners Somebody get this trade to Morey!! Lol
Trade Asik+DMo+pick for Millsap use the cap space gained in Lin's trade to sign Kris Humphries Howard, Humphries Millsap, Jones, Capela Parsons, Garcia, Covington Harden, Daniels, Beverley, Johnson, Canaan
Neither Lin or Parsons deals are have been finalized, but both have been agreed apon and are expected to go through. The only thing we can do now is try to curve them into way deals I think. Or we could be dicks and back out.
It's really pisses off organizations when you back out of agreements. Might be screwing our selves our of future negotiations with Lakers and Pelicans.
But the Pelicans' deal is contingent on salary being dumped so they can afford Asik, which they may no longer be willing to do now that the cap (for lower than expected) has been announced. If NO is still interested, a third team would be required to assist: Rockets get: Josh Smith (defensive PF who can also space floor for Dwight & Harden), rights to Spencer Dinwiddie (big 6'6 PG who can also D to replace Lin) & Patric Young (defensive C to back up Howard) Detroit gets: Eric Gordon (scoring guard to give Pistons perimeter threat) & TJ (offensive fire power off bench) Pelicans get: Omer Asik (allows them to improve post D and move Davis to PF spot full time), Isaiah Canaan (scoring guard off bench replacing some of Eric Gordon's production) & Omri Casspi (perimeter threat wing/PF contingency for Ryan Anderson) This trade allows the Rockets to sign Parsons without waiting until the twilight hour. While I would rather have Eric Bledsoe, he is a RFA and Morey cannot afford to mess around with any more delays and lose Parsons (Asik, Lin & 1st round pick) for nothing. Howard/D-Mo (if salary is not cleared)/Patric Young Josh Smith/Kostas Papanikolaou (MLE) Parsons/Covington Harden/Daniels Bev/Johnson/Spencer Dinwiddie If we have to shed D-Mo's salary, then trade him to Philly (plus Capela/Laker's international) for KJ McDaniels/future 2nd. Quality bench depth will be an issue (but great mix of athleticism & work ethic) unless Rockets can sign some good vets to vet minimum. But the starting 5 can compete with anyone - offensively AND defensively.
I love the idea of bringing Dragic back. I think he would be the perfect third option on this team. Who do we play at PF? Parsons with Harden at 3?
\ahn-DRAY-uh bahrn-YAH-nee\ He is a 12 million expiring. He is a stretch 4 that, (when healthy) is pretty decent.
Houston IN: Boozer, Rights to Mirotic, CHA 2015 1st round pick Chicago IN: TPE, Cash, Rights to Marko Todorovic Houston upgrades at PF, and gets assets to trade for Love later in the season. Chicago clears their cap to sign Gasol or Melo. Mirotic is useless to them at that point due to their cap situation.
