Anderson and Rondo with a Parsons match would be damn near ideal. I'm not sure we have the assets left to get that done though.
Was it really for McHale or was it because Kobe drove his arse out? I wonder if Kobe wasn't a douche would he really be here? Somehow I doubt he would be.
Even though I correctly predicted Morey wouldn't able to pull off another major splash and sign Melo, Lebron, Bosh or Love, he still deserves huge credit for swinging for the fences and very nearly knocking it out of the park for the third consecutive season - Unfortunately even Babe Ruth doesn't hit it out every game. After missing out on all the top tier free agents, Morey now needs to acquire remaining 2nd tier talent like Stephenson, Deng, Ariza, Monroe etc. Though some of these players are arent ideal, some are very intriguing and viable options like such as Deng, Stephenson, Bledsoe and Ariza. Monroe and Bledsoe are RFA thus difficult to obtain and both likely to get the full max of 14.7 starting. Monroe isn't an ideal fit in any case. Bledsoe would be great, but I doubt the Suns don't match. Stephenson and Deng are the best FA available IMO for the Rockets. Both are really good as well as versatile two player able to defend multiple position (stephenson 2's & 3's - Deng 3's & 4's ). Stephenson is extremely intriguing as he is under 25, really good & has a lot of potential. He definitely would be a great signing (4 year 40-50 million?) if the Rockets don't match for Parson and still a good one if they do. Ariza IMO would not be a good signing for anything over 8million or 3 years. Deng would be a great signing (4 year 40-50) especially if the Rockets match Parson. Deng would serve as a small 4 as well as at the 3 spot. His strengths is defense, versatility and while not a great shooter or playmaker is capable/good at everything. Aside from Stephenson or Deng, the Rockets also need to get a backup big, maybe Okafor? JOneal? The options are limited.
Is it possible to sign Deng for around 10 per then Gasol for around 7 per and then match Parsons? Having one of Deng or Gasol be a "super sub".
Before the first round loss and after the first round loss I will say the same thing... I would trade Parsons for Rondo.
Gasol is not coming here either. Hate to sound negative but Gasol wants the bigger media city and a city where Dwight isn't playing in it.
I said AFTER the playoff debacle last season and the embarassment he caused the Rockets. Smart players who want to win NOW KNOW that McHale is as inept as it gets and a liability.
he would bring some toughness we could use. i saw we fill out the bench and then match parsons. we need to do something before we match him.
What is a better value out there? Deng will not go cheaper than Parsons. Ariza will command alot too. Stop dreaming folks. What we got for Harden was a steal. Parsons is just worth that much these days. Bosh was never going to come here and anyone who thought yes is living in LALA land. Parsons wants to be here do not let him walk.
