    Steps I would take:

    1. First ask Pistons and Suns if they would be willing to do sign and trade immediately as that is our only option. Call RFA Greg Monroe, Bledsoe and blow them away with offer.
    2. Pursue Pau Gasol
    3. Pursue Luol Deng
    3. Pursue Trevor Ariza
    4. Call about Rondo trade.

Of course I would be doing this all at once with the staff.

No matter what you must match Parsons by Sunday. You have to overpay when you are this close to being a contender. As we saw with Yao and Tmac, next season there is no guarantee. Pay the money. Don't lose the talent.

why??? how do you figure. Because of Morey the Rockets are in the position that they are today having acquired Harden, Howard and set us up nicely for max players..not his fault they fell through--each circumstance is different.

He will find a way to salvage the offseason and improve the team--not many GMs could salvage such a letdown, but if anyone is prepared and has done their homework--its Morey--He isn't going anywhere.

If we do not make the playoffs, you can bet Morey is gone.
Its definitely not his fault, but mistakes are mistakes. You gamble big and you lose. Not entirely his fault, but he's the GM he's shouldering the responsibility and the blame.

Yeah, that's interesting. What would the Bulls pay to get the Rockets to take Boozer off of their hands?

I agree we need to replace our coaching, but George Karl lol?

He's such a **** coach in the playoffs, causes drama, and plays favorites. He's not the guy we go for.

    I doubt it.

It's hard to get rid of the guy that got you here, that would be a bad move on the Rockets part.

Suns getting Isaiah Thomas definitely points to Eric Bledsoe being available. If that's the case, I'd say we're the front runners to get him.

I'd be surprised if Morey didn't have a lose-Bosh plan. Anyone doing analysis should work off worst-case scenarios. In any case, his team was forced into that analysis if they didn't already have one.

Given that, I think he can only maximize talent for money spent... maybe keeping some in reserve, and matching Parson's contract with Mavs. Overpaid? Maybe. That is TBD by his play next season.

Keeping as much of the remaining roster intact is likely, unless possible moves are upgrades. The biggest replacement deficit will be Asik. There are no defensive equals available for that slot.

All we can do is see what plan unfolds. I wouldn't put too much blame on DM. I agree with others that he wouldn't have made the trades he did without good assurance that Bosh would sign. Just goes to show... the best laid plans...? It takes 2 to tango. The craziness and fallout from the James decision isn't over. The only other surprise that could happen (and it would have to be in the next few hours) would be S & T with Miami for Bosh. EXTREMELY unlikely, but odder things have happened.

Match parson. You have to do it. Morey will figure it out later. Rockets are not contenders without him.

Think of the chemistry without him.

Somehow make a trade for Rondo. He's perfect for us.

Whatever the case is. Unless Harden-Howard win a title. He's gone after they are gone.

I really don't like Ariza. His performance spiked up in the contract year. Morey fell for it once. I hope he doesn't fall for it again.

Now looks like Deng is a long shot. I don't know what to expect.

I think this team improves on last years 54 wins. Another season to gel, improve and I have no doubt Morey will be on the hunt for solid assets to support D12 and Harden. We are STILL a top team in the league with no additions (losing Asik is a concern), but the off season isn't over yet...
