If he return, it's good; if he gets overpaid, it's OK to let him go. This is not a serious problem

It cost 200k until we decide to release him. At which point he saves money.

It's not a non-guaranteed deal. It's a team option. They're not the same. Look up Larry Coon's FAQ for details.

No. Best case scenario is that his QO is taken back and the Rockets sign someone major. That is the dream Morey's searching for.

    That was a good reason.

They can, but it's much more difficult and therefore less likely. One, there are more rules to abide by. Two, the player has to agree to the contract amount and the destination for a S&T to work. Three, the salary matching is done at the new (higher) amount. If we picked up the option instead of allowing him to become an RFA, he could very easily be thrown into any deal, so it's very easy for a counterparty demand he be thrown in. As an RFA, the counterparty has to figure out how he gets thrown in, and has to convince the player to come too. So, he's pretty well insulated from being traded in a larger deal.

Asik didn't want to be here and Morey got a 1st for him.

Lin was addition by subtraction. His cost was a protected 1st.

The Rockets now have cap room to work a trade in a very limited time. If not have two 8.4M TPEs to bolster the same starting 5 from last season.

This was the start of the disastrous offseason. Morey outsmarting himself and expecting us to sign big stars so he could go over the cap to match.

Well we still might get to keep Daniels...

Please resign Troy Daniels. He is a better fit for this team than Parsons anyways.
