This is a HELL of a lot of money to give up. Especially for a guy that isn't particularly marketable.
The thing about the extra year is that it's not really true. Bosh will only excercise it if he has a career ending injury (no significant injury history) or his value is so low that he can't make up the salary (he's only 30 y/o). So while the insurance of a 5th year is nice, it's just that......insurance.
That was when Bosh was young and pursuing a championship dream. Now he had it, the charm is less. He must be thinking about retiring at this age. And the 5th year is huge.

Exactly. This is a no-brainer. Woj said they're working on money, I think this deciding between Houston and Miami is Miami trying to manipulate the media to get more in a sign and trade. I think Riley wants to stick it to us by getting Bev, Morey might have to bite it on this one and cave in order to get this deal done
Bosh needs to ask himself, is the chance of winning a couple of more rings worth $31m? Considering his age and the fact he's already got two wings already, it may be tougher decision than most people think.
You're really going to compare that Raptors team to the Heat sans Lebron? Sorry, they still aren't that bad and have the potential to still be a top 4 team which equated to 48 wins last year. Look, the no brainer decision would be the Rockets. But it's widely known that Bosh and his family are happy in Miami and the Heat can offer more money for another year.
This^^^ He left 2 years/42 million on the table to try and make LeBron work. Seems like 4 years would be enough.
