A business in my hometown of Reynosa, Mexico, is the first to create this piñata:

Soccer flopping in real life. Sorry if already posted. Went back several pages and didn't see it.

Every piñata has a cord attached to the top, head, topmost part, etc., or at any point that when you hang it from a rope, it sways or hangs the way it's supposed to. In the photo, it's difficult to see it clearly, but there is a cord that sticks out Robben's head to a stick holding it.

    The cord is dark.

It's probably seen better here sticking out of his back for positioning purposes.

Hilarious stuff though, getting back at the Dutch side.

If only I could understand what the last extract says about the player of Bayern Munich with the famous hashtag #NoEraPena (No penalty?)

"De esta manera continúan apareciendo las muestras en contra de jugador del Bayer Munich y del famoso hashtag #NoEraPenal" ??

"In this manner, all the protests against the Bayern Munich player and the famous #noerapenal hashtag will continue to appear [on the internet]"

#NoEraPenal is the cry of a video of a fellow Mexican crying, drunk, out of his mind, that it WAS NOT a PENALTY, about the flop being called as a Penalty kick... it's now circled the globe.

I'm sure most of you have seen it:
    <object width="420" height="315"><param name="movie" value="//www.youtube.com/v/-M605p5Fm1g?hl=en_US&amp;version=3"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="//www.youtube.com/v/-M605p5Fm1g?hl=en_US&amp;version=3" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="420" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

    I counted 37 times.

I hadn't actually seen it so thx for the link. Glad to see a lot of Mexican fans were just mocking the guy in the video and not so much still believing that "no era penal". (Or am I wrong?)

Hopefully it's just mocking the guy in the video and not believing it wasn't a penalty otherwise they should stop already, we get it lol.

^ Ummm... if you really think it WASN'T a penalty, why would you let it go?

Ah man, I dunno if I can agree with that.
Messi took the first PK for the Argies. RVP took the first PK for the Dutch vs Costa Rica. I think most of the best would like to close out penalties but like you said most pressure is in the later kicks-although the first kick also has crazy pressure because you want to help your team start off right.
I feel most teams would either like one of their stars(if they have multiple) to take the 1st pk and last pk or have a player that may not be a star but is an excellent pk taker to go first.

I noticed for the Holland-Argentina match, Robben and Sneijder took the #2 and #3 penalties again like they did vs Costa Rica. I'd bet anything that it was those two that refused to take the first PK(Since RVP was subbed off, LVG probably went to them and asked if one of them would move up to take the first PK and both refused). I'm guessing they wanted to remain 2 and 3 as they were comfortable in that spot. Meh, it's done anyway.

Sorry in advance to the non-Mexican fans on here for me rehashing the Holland-Mexico match.

    1. If Mexican fans still think it wasn't a penalty then they need to get LASIK. How about blaming Rafa Marquez instead of Robben and the referee?

    2. If Mexican fans still think it wasn't a penalty, here's why you let it go.......
BECAUSE THE GAME IS OVER AND IT WON'T BE REPLAYED. WHAT'S DONE IS DONE! GET OVER IT!

I mean jeez, it's not like that was the 1st goal. Holland had already equalized. All the momentum was with the Dutch, Mexico were not going to win it by then after they'd already retreated into a defensive shell after the 1st goal. Maybe it would've gone to penalties or maybe the Dutch would've still found a way to win in penalties. It's not like the match was a 0-0 game and Holland got a PK to win it. Main thing is

The more I think about it...what's the motive of the Dutch coach to tell the whole world about it? The game has been lost already. Why did he need to go public on it now to make the fans question the mental toughness of his key players?

Exactly. So spot on with that thought.
I guess it's what Van Gaal does. As great as he's been tactically this tournament, he is still an egotistical git(like SAF, Jose and many other great managers). He wanted to give himself an out with the fans for letting Vlaar go first and he offered up the other players that refused the first pk as sacrifice.

I would go with my best in the 1st and 5th penalties.. There are some that like to take the last one to get all the attention kinda backfires sometimes ( I'm looking at you at CR7).

Btw, come back to the 2014/2015 European Thread.

I love that no Mexico fans have the slightest degree of criticism of Marquez. He's only your captain with years of international experience who should know better than the attempt a move like that in stoppage time, in the box, against a player that has a reputation for embellishment. Any captain who is able to keep his head should've known not to gamble in the situation knowing that Robben was likely to go down.

Flopping sucks, but it's encouraged and will never go away until FIFA decides to implement a post-match review and penalty system. Until then, don't act like Marquez was an innocent victim. He was stupid.

Especially when the touch had gotten away from Robben and the ball was going to be cleared. Ain't no one's fault but marquez's...and I love it.

Van gaal was not the one to go public. Ron Vlaar had the first interview after the match and told this information to thw public. So it was Ron Vlaar who went public first.

So Vlaar said he stepped up because/after two of his teammates refused to go first? Or did he just say he volunteered for the first penalty and didn't say anything about teammates refusing to take the first one?

I hope it's the latter and he just said he volunteered for the first penalty and said nothing else because if he said two others refused to take it, that might make him look bad for calling out his teammates(although maybe they do deserve to be called out).
