ESPN had an article with 5 "experts" who said LeBron was staying in Miami yesterday. They are just hoping against hope Miami stays relevant.
I should have been more clear...CAN waive them (and likely have to). But, I agree with you. Gee would be nice fit/depth.
If they take players back they like they will probably try to see if they can do the S&T multi team deal with the Heat before waiving them.
Nah, they don't care about Miami. They care about clicks. ESPN has to say something to the contrary or else who's going to keep clicking on their crap? Windhorst: Melo will go to Chicago Shelbourne: Lakers are big players for Melo Broussard: Don't count out Melo playing with LeBron in Miami SAS: Melo's staying in NY, period Note: no actual research so quote and person may be mixed up That's their thing. They have different people report different stuff so they can never technically be wrong. And they will always keep fans glued to them because they can't be certain what will happen.

Exactly. This is all media fodder. The Lin trade is eerily similar to the Jack trade yesterday. We got our commitment. We are probably working with the Heat on a SnT, while also calling around the league to find places for TJones, DMo, and other's if we can't get a reasonable deal done. I can see the Heat saying something like "Look, the Rockets are trying to get you to take a lower deal. Here's a 5 year $120 million contract". Could work I guess. That's almost 40 million more than we are probably offering.
