By giving up the bench, I meant to sign Bosh.

You can still see that around. I agreed with a few people that we want to make this burn in a mature way...but if you want the middle finger version, it's still posted haha.

Won't Dallas' offer on CP tie up their cap space until Sunday at midnight, or whenever the Rockets match? If that's true, that would seriously hamper their ability to sign anyone until Monday. Extra burn.

yes you are correct. Until the very minute we match they have a cap hold. So rockets could possibly get some backups and bench players then match I believe.

Burning the mavericks so they can't sign anyone significant until after sunday, would be icing on the cake.

Just decline it. No point now. We have 48 hours to make connections with whatever free agents are out there and somehow get them to sign all without overpaying them and praying they don't do the same thing Chris Bosh did and shun us last second whenever some team gives them a better offer.

decline and replace him with who? deng and ariza want close to the same money.

howard only is locked into two seasons. the rockets can't afford to tank a season.

They have to really, really believe Parsons is that 3rd anchor at this point to match that offer. More than the money, the inflexibility means the team will be locked in with a core of Harden, Howard, and Parsons.

In an ideal world, I'd rather see the team develop talent in-house and pay to keep it. But, with shorter contracts and the CBA a team has to move to compete ASAP as soon as a guy like Howard or Harden hits the roster.

Maybe Parsons can be that guy with a different system/coach?

I bet Parsons doesn't even want to be here now after celebrating with Cuban.

    Honestly... 2 options...

Sign a guy or two and then match for Parsons.

Let Parsons go and figure out a way to save/trade pieces for a bigger one the following season....
