There's got to be a sign and trade to Miami who would likely gladly take DMo and Covington and hey why not Lin as well. Morey must get the MLE.....
With the versatility and quality of the starting line-up, the bench really just has to be one or two decent PG's and the rest can be 6'5" - 6'9" guys who can shoot 3's and play D.
Trade Lin, Jones, and DMo to 76ers for McDaniels, Grant, and Smith. Re-sign Daniels. Keep Canaan and Covington if possible. Sign Johnson. Sign Jordan Hill.
Fredette would be lethal on this team as a spot up shooter. You know how many wide open threes he would get?
Bench: Aaron Brooks Daniels/Nick Johnson T-Jones Chris Andersen Assuming we can keep T-Jones and that D-Mo, Canaan and Covington are gonna be gone.
Honest question Brooks is willing to come back for minimum, Jameer is also willing to sign for minimum, you can only sign one... which one? I personally would choose Jameer Nelson, though I would be totally happy with either Jameer or Brooks as backup PG's.
Nice^ Don't forget guys, one of the reasons the heat had it it so hard in the finals is because there bench was so old and didn't contribute. Compared to Spurs who brought it in young talented players, they excelled.
So what/where is your list? Aminu is a defensive beast and can give you solid minutes at the 3 and maybe 4. Fredette has no semblance of defense but all he needs to do is shoot. DeJuan Blair is a bruiser at the 4 that can help out tremendously in sparse minutes (evidence: his play vs SA in the playoffs) Jordan Hamilton because we need some depth. The common thread to all four guys is that they're young and could be had for cheap. I don't want to see the Rockets going into the post season trotting out Casspi or Garcia and without a legit wing defender ever again.
