I had all the vaccines back in the early 60s that kids used to get. I have no problems with back pain or knee pain. Same with my high school peers and my cousins. I am running 25-30 miles per week with no problems.

Can't think of any that have had back surgery and a couple needed knee surgery but that was due to their high school football days.

Just curious, did you have central and foramenial stenosis? Was the back surgery successful after the removal? I have very bad sciatica due to my L5-S1, which is almost unbearable at work..

Your schtick comes across as a more sober and much less entertaining version of fattyfatbastard.

I had a piece of the disk break off and the broken piece and the remaining bulging disk both pressed against my sciatic nerve. I had both numbness and weakness in my leg. The numbness still exists. As you might guess I was in severe pain before surgery. They performed laminectomy and except for when the anesthetic s wore off (that day I thought something went really wrong) things were much better. I still get back pain and instability but I was able to play basketball and ride my MTB six months after surgery.

    Good luck with yours.

Thanks for the info. I'm so terrified to get back surgery, but I need to just do it. So sick of living with pain and being a slave to meds for so long.

Thanks for the well wishes all.

Posting here from my hospital bed fixing to go home hopefully.

The pain recovering from back surgery is definitely better than the pain before.

I remember watching games 1 and 2 of the 95 wc semis from my hospital bed. Stayed with my parents during game 3 and 4. Insisted my parents take me vs back to my apartment to recover where I watched that beautiful game 5 and the rest is history.

Glad it went well. maybe your back surgeries are the Rocket's good luck charm. Why don't you have another one come playoff time?

Happy the surgery went well. Don't get discouraged if all of a sudden it hurts worse... usually a few days after the surgery the anesthesia wears off and your back decides to get you back for having surgery.

Do they have you in a bed that automatically adjust every time you shift position? I had one of those and while it was comfortable I couldn't sleep well due to all the noise. I was really happy they released me morning after the surgery.

Follow the doctor's orders to the T...

What kind of back surgery did you have and what was the cause of it?
Btw, congrats on the successful surgery. I was given the option to have back surgery with my previous employer and declined because I was worried it would end up worse.

You should have scheduled your surgery earlier, who knows how the playoffs might have turned out? ;)

Glad to hear you're doing well.
