C'mon GoRox... He still has time to pull everything together. Wait until he falls down before you start kicking him
Rockets shot 11 more free throws than the spurs per game. That makes up for a lot. All the stats I provided you show that the spurs play a very similar pace with similar 3 point attempts and they just won it all. All the stats I showed you show we are in fact taking a very big advantage of things scoring wise. Every time I prove what you claim wrong you just come back with some other part that you left out which I then again prove wrong. No matter how you slice it. We are an elite offense. An offense at a level that continues to show up in the finals year after year. Hopefully the dominoes are falling and we land Bosh to improve the one area we really are lacking in. Defense.
2 years. And the Rockets are now looking at Howard, James, Bosh, Parsons and Beverley as their starting 5. 2 years since Scola, Kevin Martin, Lowry and Co.. Think about that... Those posters who were talking smack about Morey these last few years saying that he couldn't land stars and his assets, picks and cap space weren't going to result in anything might want to think about Owning up now. #InMoreyWeTrust
Spurs needed to win the lotto that they weren't supposed to. Miami needed the super best friends to want to team up. Every GM/team needs some form of luck/help for things to break the right way. At least we had the guy who was prepared to take advantage of it when things did break our way.
Similarly stats aren't indicative of similar style of play. And the Rockets and Spurs play nothing alike. Analytics are just use to verify the tape _ not the other way around. And no matter how you slice it, elite offense are whatever _ teams that play how the Rockets played don't win championships. Simple as that. But it looks like they will get Josh so the pace will slow down and now that we have 4 max contract players _ hopefully the great coach McHale can get us out of the 1st round... If not, maybe Morey will go after another max player next year.
Morey basically gets the guy he wants after they go somewhere else first. Howard -- Lakers Bosh -- Miami
I NEVER said they have the same style. I said similar pace and 3 point attempts. The 2 two things you keep harping on and have been since the very beginning. My case has been that teams that go to the finals are elite on offense in certain categories. I provided the stats to back that up. Categories the Rockets are elite in. It does not matter how you play to get the elite results. If you created a squad that only shot half court heaves, but you hit those half court heaves at the proper rate your offense will be elite no matter how stupid it looks. And come on. Tank all you want it doesn't guarantee you the number 1 pick. Strategic tanking still takes lucky results in the lotto. You really just sound like an extreme doubter of Morey and his plan/vision who is butthurt that it's looking like Morey has been right all along and that the offensive plan in place, no matter how much you don't agree with it, actually does work and yields elite results.
Tell me of anyone who hits all of them. The fact is he hits more than most and the mistakes he makes he quickly moves to correct them. That's the definition of an elite GM.
Morey likely knew that LeBron could go back Cleverland, so he afforded a max contract to Bosh. Morey just knows what he is doing.
San Antonio attempts 21 3pt field goal attempts and average 39%. The Rockets average 26 attempts and average 35%. That's not similar IMO so we'll just agree to disagree. But going by your point of view teams like Portland, GSW, Phoenix, etc. can make the same case. But I'm talking about style of play so we're talking about totally different things. Good discussion though my friend.
I'm just saying I remember that year when he fired the head coach and took over coaching duties and practically the entire team had mysterious injuries so he made his chances to get lucky in the lotto better. But you're absolutely right because it doesn't always work out that way.
