You just broke the 99er code of ethics. Tinman's head might explode now.

No they don't. Houston is ranked #5 in pace but ranked #26 in field goal attempts. So they do all that running up and down the court, wasting energy, more risk to injury, and risking running Harden in the ground (have you seen his belle) _ Just to average around the same amount of shots as teams that play at a slow pace like Indiana and Chicago.

They're sacrificing defense for offense for nothing.

Plus the game slows down in the playoffs anyway. Everyone's pace slows down. So it's best to slow it down in the regular season so a team can be prepared to play playoff ball once the postseason starts. That's probably why Harden hasn't been doing well in the playoffs because teams slow the ball down and it makes it easier for the defense to key in on him since he's playing the point guard position.

All of that is meaningless because San Antonio and Miami don't play at as fast of a pace, don't jack up as many 3's, and have coaches who can run a half court offense... It's not the same. Analytics never out weigh the tape.

Morey went from being the man last summer, to a huge disappointment this offseason

The Spurs didn't slow down in the playoffs. They just proved you wrong on that one sir.

If Morey had his way _ we would have Pau Gasol and no Harden and Howard. This should be the "Kiss David Stern's azz" thread instead if that's the case.

The Spurs pace went from 97 in the regular season to 94 in the postseason. Check for yourself. I'm not making this ish up.

Portland forced the Rockets to drop their pace from 98 to 95. A lot of that had to do with Howard working in the post and they need to continue working on that and playing at that pace during the regular season. And if they get Bosh _ the pace will definitely drop because he's too old to be pushing up and down the floor like that.

    Jesus.

I showed that our difference in pace is only a very few possessions a game.

I showed that our 3 point attempt difference is only a handful a game.

You continue to act as if there is this gulf between us and these top teams in those two categories.

Now you bring up field goal attempts per game? Ever consider our field goal attempts are lower because we take THE MOST free throws per game? We're not doing "all that running" for nothing.

You keep clinging to stuff that I have shown is just plain wrong.

It's ok to be wrong sometimes.

Yea right, cut Lin when he made minimum, then signed him for 25mil.

Traded Ariza away after signed him to big $$, now wants to bring him back with a bigger price tag?

How many years has him on the job? Has the Rockets won anything since he is here?

You would get fired in any business not named NBA.

The Rockets free throw attempts and makes are only "very few" above other teams. Are they not...??? A "few" makes a difference doesn't it...??? But the Rockets are ranked 28th in free throw percentage at 71%. That does put other teams in foul trouble which is good _ but they're not taking advantage of it point wise... Would have to be shooting in the 80% range (or close to it) to do that (like San Antonio) and that will probably never happen with Howard on the team. And Harden gives the other team the ball often when he's trying to flop for a call and doesn't get it so they do sacrifice opportunities for those free throws. And also some of those free throws come when teams foul Howard to keep the ball out of Harden's hands.

And there is no right are wrong sir _ I'm just telling you no team has won a championship playing the style the Rockets currently play no matter what stat you find to try to prove your point... But maybe they can.

This offseason is make or break for him. Parsons is on the verge of leaving. We are still waiting for Bosh. Lin & Asik are STILL here. If we stay pat and have the same roster as last year, this offseason will be a FAILURE. All he needed to do was make a few upgrades. But he chose to swing for the fences which might blow up in his face.

Ok genius GM, you should be able to handle situations like this. You're the genuis:rolleyes:
