How is this hard to understand. He can get his money either way. Just work with the Rockets so he can win too.

Yeah signing in the nightclub and all those pics are real d-bag moves, but hey, if your boss was paying you a potential 3m more a year, wouldn't you do the same? Honestly, we had it coming. Just pray we're able to get a third star.

The point you fell to understand is that he's a "FREE AGENT" and the Rockets cut him loose. The Rockets just have the right to match whatever contract he signs and go back to being his boss but as of now they are not his current boss. And until the Rockets match that contract _ Parsons is just taking pics with his "current boss."

The Rockets probably talked dollar figures with Parsons already and he knows how we feel about Dallas so he and his agent may not be expecting the Rockets to match a poison pill type max contract.

I'm sure Morey will match then trade him to Milwaukee at the deadline, restoring balance to the universe.

Never cared much for Parsons after his ego started to take over, of which these photos are proof, but we should be mad at Morey and Leslie. They can talk about Olajuwon, the championships and all that but the truth is we are NOT a family type organisation at all. Look at all the coaches and players whp gladly left this place and had a bad taste in their mouth about how business was done here? Morey is pretty dumb for an educated man, but he will never build a championship TEAM. He may get us good players, but the chemistry, good feeling, loyalty, bonding that the Clutch City had is gone. It all starts with Leslie though. He has been star chasing and turning over players since he came here.

It's not about getting more or less money its about seeing if you can win championship. You give Houston say 48 hours and we are good. If Dallas pulls their offer which I call bull on. Guess what you know Hornets have money to blow on sf. Waiting is a win win.

This is turning into something similar to the anti-gogi sentiment when he went to PHX. Give it a few months to let the sting wear off.

I couldn't agree more. Morey is a very good GM with an outstanding track record, but he must have been having a TMI to let this happen.

Every year in free agency, there are many buyers going after scarce few young assets driving the costs through the roof. Parsons getting a multi-year deal north of $12M/year was VERY predictable - and was by most on CF. After the Morey 'poison pill deals' on Asik and Lin, it was also predictable that another owner would put in 'poison pill' clauses that Morey doesn't like as well: (trade kickers, player options).

This was totally avoidable, and a terrible blunder. We should have a well above average starting 3 for 2014-15, that was highly tradeable, and had great team chemistry for a $1M bargain next year. Now we've got a mess.

Different scenario, plus it wasn't petulant Mark Cuban pulling the strings either. This is more salty than Dragic, who left on neutral terms.

Good for Parsons. He has earned it . I'm just thinking about how the Rockets would never include him in any trades- Rondo, Love come to mind maybe others .
That should count for something. He could of waited to sign an offer sheet knowing the Rockets never shipped him out to Minnesota.
But Cuban probably did do the Shark Tank move and asked Parsons how much he wanted he said $15 mil a year and Cuban goes BAM! You got it sign now
That's what he does , Parsons can't turn it down he gets exactly what he asked for

And Clutch is probably right this has more to do with Agent / GM /
Owner relationships that most of us will never know about

If Chandler Parson waited, he may lose out on his opportunity to make money. Maybe the rockets low ball him or maybe other teams don't value him that high. Parson's a young player that needs to get paid! He was only making like 1 million a year and his career is only starting, not ending!

What's not to get? Fans want their favorite players to be loyal to the team. If they are not, then the hate sets in.

Of course his first priority is money, not winning. Not for now. Everyone would choose money in his case.

There was no guarantee he would get paid as much with the Rockets, and I really think you are trying to trivialize the difference in money that he would be making. As I said before, he's not someone who's made tens of millions already.

Not to turn this in to a life lesson or anything, but nobody cares about your future and well being more than you do (in general). Parsons got the best contract money-wise, and did well to himself. You'd have to be a fool or crazy to turn down a guaranteed max contract staring you in the face if you're in parsons' situation and hope to negotiate and work things out down the road. I'd bet he'd love for houston to match. But don't lose respect for the guy because he signed a great contract for himself.

If he said "screw you cuban, I'm a rocket for life" and turned down cuban's offer, we'd all have loved it! It would have been ballsy, a bit crazy, and he'd have missed out on millions of dollars...and it's easy for us to root for that scenario because parsons having +/- millions of dollar in his bank account doesnt make all that much of a difference to us...but it sure does to him. So all i'm saying is you can't be so hard on the guy for taking that offer when presented
