For a lot of the younger fans and newer fans, they became Rockets fans because of the Yao-Tmac era. Just like how some of us grew up on the Clutch City era. Unfortunately, many weren't around during one of the greatest times in Houston sports history. While Yao & T-Mac never won, they created lots of memories. They stick with you. Sometimes, espeically to the younger generation, the good memories are the next best thing to winning. At the end of the day, regardless of when you became a fan, most if not all of us are Rockets fans.
10 years ago, I hated that we traded Cat & Steve for him, and everyone told me I was supposed to be excited. I remember where I was and the excitement that built for every single playoff series we were supposed to win, throwing away homecourt advantage, 2-0 leads, etc. good memories? yeah I remember where I was for one spectacular performance in a regular season game vs the Spurs, but Tracy's time in Houston was simply lackluster.
The guy was undeniably a great player when he was healthy. Unfortunately, I think that the back problems that he had from birth, were too much for him to take anymore. In every other way, he was gifted, and if he hadn't had that bad back, I think that he may have been better statistically in every way than Bryant. It also helped that he wasn't a piece of crap, unlike Bryant.
How does one carry us in the playoffs when one has never won a series? I guess he showed leadership and class after the losses.... oh wait, he threw his teammates under the bus instead. Man, didn't he pick Portland over the Rockets too when the team made it past the first round after he quit? Or was it the Lakers that he supported? Man I'm getting worked up thinking about Tmac. The man deserves all of the hate he gets and he gets way less compared to some of the players that put in more effort.
Mentioning Kobe in the dish leads to long threads with the words 'rapist' and 'overrated' being used alot. Just so you know.

There had to be a connection. Tracy's reps are on this board. yeah the story went that way. Tinman was searching for his heart, with a Scarecrow and a timid Lion.
