Not that it makes a difference, but Masai just said Lowry made his decision one day after FA began. There was no way in hell we were stealing him. By the way, this press conference is probably the best one I've seen in terms of presentation

Lowry: The pitch from the Rockets was great. Dwight Howard & Chandler Parsons called me. $12m a year for Lowry seems like a bargain with all the crazy money being thrown around right now. And I also find it interesting, and kind of perplexing that Parsons put the recruiting call into Lowry, and then turned around and played the Rockets like this. It makes you wonder how much he and Morey talked about the offer sheet beforehand, and how much Fegan had to do with this.
Unless the Rockets can land Bosh, looks like in hindsight we should have went all in on Lowry. He would've been great. It's a shame because we probably told him he's our second choice behind Melo and to wait it out. He was smart to sign quickly, how bad would it have looked if he had waited weeks and Melo ended up joining HOU and he went to TOR as backup. He wanted to get it over with and out of the way, I'm sure that if HOU wasn't chasing Melo/Bosh he would have signed here. It's a shame.
That's a metric ton of assumptions you're making without even a modicum of evidence. I'll make one as well. I'm betting that if Lowry had given the Rockets the nod, they would have signed him without hesitating. They were not waiting for Melo or Bosh before signing Lowry. Lowry simply decided that Toronto was where he wanted to be, and that was that.
Of course that's possible, but this reminds me of the situation last year when we offered Josh Smith a contract but told him we'd only offer it if Dwight turned us down. Thankfully that didn't happen lol.

Smart man, at least there he will have the fans to always have his back, he can be the leader and he has a better coach and one of the best GMs!
