At this point I am so over the free agency period. At this point I say match parsons and sign and trade for Ilysova. This is getting stupid.

Bosh should force Lebron's hands if he's a man. Just call him and tell him "look, I'm going to sign with Houston on Saturday. So make up your mind before then and let me know if you're staying or not."

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Rockets' goal is Chris Bosh and Chandler Parsons, would match offer sheet if can get both <a href="http://t.co/6PZUo5MzNV">http://t.co/6PZUo5MzNV</a></p>&mdash; Jonathan Feigen (@Jonathan_Feigen) <a href="https://twitter.com/Jonathan_Feigen/statuses/487265090190602241">July 10, 2014</a></blockquote>

[rQUOTEr]While the Rockets wait to receive Chandler Parsons’ offer sheet and Chris Bosh’s decision, half of their plan for both is clear.

If they can get Bosh, they would keep Parsons, too, a person with knowledge of their thinking said.

If Bosh chooses to stay in Miami, the Rockets would have to weigh whether they can still retool their way to a roster that could be a title contender in order to merit matching Parsons’ offer sheet with the Mavericks, worth in excess of $45 million over three years. That, according the individual familiar with their plans, remains a close call.

The Rockets have not been given a clear-cut answer about Bosh’s plans, though every indication has been that he would remain in Miami if LeBron James does and would jump to the Rockets if he doesn’t.

If the Rockets do not land Bosh and choose to let Parsons leave, they could still carve out the cap room planned for Bosh and try to sign Parsons’ replacement into that space. They have been in talks with representatives of Trevor Ariza, Luol Deng and Paul Pierce, though the signings of Parsons and Gordon Hayward is expected to raise the market price for Deng and Ariza.

The Rockets could try to keep their roster largely intact and use their mid-level exception to replace Parsons. Pierce would be closest to signing at that price and has been especially receptive to the Rockets’ offers, according to a person with knowledge of the talks, but would still be unlikely to come down to the $5.305 million of a mid-level exception.

The Rockets could also seek to fill out the roster using some or all of the trade exception they plan to get from the trade of Omer Asik to New Orleans.

The Rockets have been in talks with several teams about a similar cap-clearing move of Jeremy Lin, but a person with knowledge of the talks said that while the Rockets remain confident they could complete a trade in time to sign Bosh and match Parsons offer sheet, there is not agreement on a deal with any one team.

The Rockets would have up to three days to match Parsons offer sheet, beginning when they receive it.[/rQUOTEr]

technically speaking you're right...but let's be honest, these guys have been free agents from the moment they opted out.

I would start to get pretty worried if we don't hear from Bosh by the end of the day. Things will have to get moving starting tomorrow.

Maybe you should take a break from this free agency stuff. These dude have a little over a week to make the most important decision of their careers. Teams keep players for 7-8 years before they can make their own choices, it's not as easy as some of y'all make it out to be.

So we don't even have a final deal ready to go on Lin.

Threading this needle sounds very far fetched.

Feigen saying that the Rockets haven't received the offer sheet yet is pretty big news.

So I saw Feigen mention that the Rockets will "lose" their MLE if they sign Bosh and then go over the cap to match Parsons? Is that true? Bima? Someone? That's a huge blow if true.
