man, people are acting like they are spending their own hard earned cash for parsons. As some posters have said, it's not about money, it's about our window of opportunity to add these pieces.
Now they're saying NO and Asik trade can't be done unless NO trades another player, so that could be delayed. Also, wonder if The Rockets have gotten Parsons offer sheet yet? These next 3 days will be Morey's toughest test yet.
Yea I don't see it either simply for the fact there's no way Morey gets all the other stuff done in time. That is unless Morey has somehow dodged that offer sheet
That's a big if. Look if Morey has his mind made up then I trust him. He found Chandler and can find another one. If he thinks he can add better pieces with Bosh and without Paraons I trust him.
I see several posters on various threads talk about how we'd have 75mil commited if we S&T for Bosh. This is a disingenuous number because it includes cap holds. To put it another way, the Rockets can add Canaan($300K over cap hold), Nick Johnson(at cap hold or maybe $100K over cap hold), Aaron Brooks($600K over cap hold if signed to minimum), and basically add 3 players for $1mil extra. It overstates the cap situation for the Rockets. What's likely to happen is the the Rockets can sign someone for about $3mil starting salary with what they have left over, and minimums after that. I'm hoping Papanikalou will take that much, because he's the perfect 3-point bomber at SF to backup Parsons. Probably can guarantee him playing time right off the bat.
Even if we take on salary, we can still match Parsons. The issue with taking on contracts is with signing Bosh. I'm kinda of thinking it may be better to let Parsons go if we get Bosh and go for depth.
Give Morey some credit.. we're in a good position to land Bosh. Parsons' stats benefited tremendously from all the double teaming on Harden and Howard. Let's see if he can keep similar numbers in Dallas. Plus consider the below fact. This team can be more efficient than ever if we get Bosh: "Bosh made 74 3-pointers last season after making just 87 in his first 11 seasons. He also posted a player efficiency rating of 19.0 this past season, his ninth consecutive year at 18.9 or better. He could join Rockets players James Harden (23.51), Dwight Howard (21.36), and Terrence Jones (19.14) as players with a PER of 19 or better from last season. No team in the NBA had four players with a PER of 19 or better last season." Source: http://www.csnhouston.com/basketbal...ts-miami-or-houston-bosh?p=ya5nbcs&ocid=yahoo
You are at about $72 million for your starting five of Parsons/Bosh/Harden/Howard/Beverly. If you keep Terrence Jones in the side and trade scenario you are at about $74 million (lots of loose change adds up.) That's 6 players at $74 million. You have very little room to work with the fill out the roster.
Your terminology is a little mixed up there. They do have his bird rights and they can give him a max that is bigger than what the Rockets can offer plus a 5th year. However, they don't have his RFA rights so they can't just match a contract that the Rockets offer and keep him if he doesn't want to be there like we can with Parsons.
They can offer him a better contract, but bosh is unrestricted so if he wants to come here, nothing Miami can do
