at least basketballaholic was right, we weren't trading parsons, and if we match, we'll never be able to. Parsons wasn't even a good fit on this team anymore, he was just better than the awful we had backing him up.
D12: 22/yr Parsons: 15.3/yr Harden: 15.7/yr That's 53 million tied up to only 3 players. Two of them are respectively the best at their position. Let's say we sign Bosh for 22/yr, that's 75 million for four players. We don't exactly have veterans lining up to sign up with us either... Nor is our bench depth solidified.
Oh aren't you just so financially cunning. Tell me how else would you spend our money. To get a good free agent you have to overpay. There is zero guarantee that a good free agent will suddenly knock on our doors and come here for a "normal" pay rate as referred to in your post. Owners are throwing money like its nothing and being fiscally conservative will only mean us losing out of Harden and Howard's best years.
This thread would have fit perfectly here: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=256218 Heck the trade title even answers the other thread's question!
We have to match because it's the best basketball decision. We'll end up deep in the tax, but who cares, it's not our money... it's Les Alexander's.
If I am Parsons get your money. But you are not worth it lol. If I'm Houston I would not match it. Let Dallas overpay him. He talked to soon in the playoffs and then Nicholas Batum d'ed up everyone lol. This free agency is a joke. Overpaying players is the only way to go. I say offer LeBron James the max contract and forget about Cris Bosh aka Raptor.
This is just not about money anymore. Imagine when guys like Dmo, Tjones, Beverley, Canaan blow up offensively and they want 8-11 millions a year. He just set a bad example.
I am not big of an Alexander fan but it is him who buys all the 2nd rounders. One turned into Chandler Parsons, the other turned into Carl Landry. He does not have to do that. Obviously fans have to worry about his money a bit.
Parsons can take his boy toy Lin with him too. I hate that we have to part with Chandler but we must do whats best for the team.........Oh and of course it had to be the F ing Mavs. F U you Mark Cuban!!
Don't match Parsons, use the cap room wisely on the best available player even if Bosh refuses to come here. If need be, then look to trade Jones and Daniels for a small forward.
Nop, let's sign Deng around 9-10 mil. He'll come if we sign Bosh anyway. 15 mil is too much for Parsons ...
this so called role player put up about the same stats as deng and is younger. deng will command the same money. if you miss out on bosh you sign other players or Assets. then sign parsons.
Overpaid doesn't really matter in this case since the Rockets will theoretically be over the cap anyway. It all boils down to whether Les is willing to accept fewer profits. It really is on Les, not Cuban, not Parsons, not Morey, but Les. It's on him. He's a billionaire. He can afford it.
yes use the contract as a chip to trade for a major 3rd star. Sorry Chandler signing to a team from South Oklahoma is an ultimate slap in the face at least wait till we get a big name free agent.
IDK if you followed him. Les is making profit but he is also one the least wealthiest among NBA owners. It was that for while. There is a reason why he is willing to spend 'pick money' but not the luxury tax till now. The big money.
