15 million a year is sweet..... That seems a lot better than the estimated 9-10 million most on Clutches thought he would get.

Cuban is going to wake up tomorrow and realize he just offered Chandler Parsons $15m a year. Then he's going to pray to god that Morey matches.

Talent wise the Rockets may be better but McHale swings the vote in Dallas's favor. Same way he did with Portland.

Sure looks like it. I think Morey must've told Parsons and his agent the max the Rockets were willing to pay. Cuban got word of it, exceeded it, and Parsons is now a Maverick. Which I'm fine with if Morey's got a Plan B. But I have a bad feeling he was betting that no one would give Parsons that kind of money and just got burned badly.

Judging by the pics and stuff on twitter, it is safe to assume that Rockets have already told him or given him a hint that they will not be matching because if they do match, I would think it would get pretty awkward for him when he comes back.

Here is what Chandler Parson had to say about the this. "It's always a challenging situation during free agency. You are always having to find a good place that is best for you, which may prevent you from staying with the same organization. It's unfortunate that it's often hard to handle. Reality is it's standard practice. When Daryl declined my options, I was pleasantly surprised. When I saw Dallas's max offer compared to Houston's offer, I had no choice but to run away with it. I get the sensitivity and I hate that it creates some hurt feelings. I don't like that, but that's a max number, that's the number that I want. Bottomline, this is not about disrespect . It's just math. It's not personal. My job is every day to figure out how to win. Sometimes it creates challenging situations."

Don't even want him after this buddy buddy stuff with Cuban. If he doesn't want to be here, let him go. If he thinks he is worth that much he is crazy, but I don't think he is...he is recognizing that somebody will overpay form, so why not take it?

This is probably true. But Morey HAD to see this contract coming. We all saw the overpay coming.

CP25 is worth 11/12M per, but this market, flush with cash, put him at 15M. Morey should have wink/agreed to it. Give him time to work. Then if get in a cap crunch later trade CP.

If Morey bluffed, CP called and won.

I've been saying over $10m since forever. I underestimated how much of an ******* Cuban would be.

Three days is very very long time. So I am sure Rockets officials have plenty of time to match it.

Typically RFAs fetch lower salaries than UFAs. Threatening to match any offer usually does the trick as well. Morey played the game he was dealt, Chandler went out and got paid. Both men did what was best for them. Can't blame them.

He's been buddy buddy with Cuban going a long way back. Probably Maury's fault for not reading the "tea leafs" on this one...

Can't blame him here, he went to Houston first. Eventually took the better deal.

Im hoping that Morey was just trying to call Cuban's bluff and hopefully we end up with Bosh and match Parsons. But man, all depends on where Lebron goes

They can match, but I don't think they will. For all the talk of Les being willing to go into luxury tax range, the Rockets seem to always avoid that situation when push comes to shove. I remember when they let James Posey go to Memphis as a RFA when it seemed like a no-brainer to bring him back(this was in part due to all the horrible contracts Rudy and Les had already saddled the team with at the time). All that happened there was Posey played like an All-Star for the Grizzlies, helped lead them to the playoffs, and then wound up winning titles with the Heat and Celtics.
