Jason is good at what he does - that's why he's moving on to better opportunities. Imagine if he sucked - we'd be stuck with him and complaining the whole time. I'm happy for you Jason - you stay classy, Planet Earth.

Now is your golden opportunity. In two days time, you can go to a stats site and pluck some interesting information about any player in the NBA and post it. Then you can follow up with a sentence like "He's pretty good."

Trust me, it will be cathartic.

    I'm trying to decipher this.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p><a href="https://twitter.com/Thedocrocket">@Thedocrocket</a> Ha! I always have felt like my pattern recognition is poor, but that I do possess a pretty good EYe for numbers :)</p>&mdash; Jason Friedman (@JasonCFriedman) <a href="https://twitter.com/JasonCFriedman/statuses/487093176411242496">July 10, 2014</a></blockquote>

Obviously has to do something with the big 4.

I believe JCF's wife works at one of them.

In fact, I got a funny story about her. I went to go eat at Bullritos at the Houston center. I walk behind this blonde lady, she's wearing a black dress thing, and I say, hmm not bad, but this is from behind. So I hurry up and walk quickly to get in line at Bullritos, and I turn around to look towards her direction. I had to do a double take, and it turns out it was Sweet Susie.

    EYe?

you guys are smart enough to figure what company that is.

EY= Ernst and Young. One of the big 4. A few tweets before that doc was using puns referring to other big 4 firms. Did he get a job as an accountant? Wife made partner?

Jason, you're a class act and you'll be sorely missed. Best of luck in your new opportunity.

Just wanted to let you guys know that the Jason's replacement has his first story out.

    Warmly welcome Chad Shanks!

Looks like Friedman has moved to True Hoops?

Good for him. He'll at least be able to write and speak a little more freely now instead of having to worry about the NBA coming down on him and the Rockets for talking about potential free agent acquisitions.

Friedman, Lin, Parsons, Asik and Casspi.

Morey has driven off all of the non-black Rockets.

Friedman going to ESPN. Very awesome. ESPN isn't going anywhere, and its good to see them acquiring someone with half a brain, and someone that is going to have ties to Houston.

It sucks that Jason left the Rockets, but this is awesome to see that he's going to definitely still be around but WITHOUT THE MUZZLE of working for an NBA team.

The article says "Jason Friedman, Special for ESPN." Not sure if this is the beginning of a working relationship or a one-shot deal where the Truehoop guys, who know Jason well, asked him to write a piece to address his former team's situation.

he already said his new full time gig was non-sports but that he would have more free time with the new gig to still contribute. i'm guessing this espn truehoop article is just free lance work for him.

Sounds like an audition to me. I'm not saying that he's the next Brian Windhorst or Broussard, but it sounds like TrueHoop is a good way for him to get his foot in the door for a much larger audience. Its a good move for Jason.
