We would have a TE from ditching Lin and Asik. So could take on a wing that way.

    Can we create TWO TE?
One for Bosh and another for the replacement SF?

should have never declined the 4th year option. cleveland got screwed by boozer and we didn't learn. it's not because of their defective character. it's the money. they have a short time to earn as much as they can and they are gonna get theirs.

He's also dumber (lower Bball IQ) , the complete opposite type of player for chemistry (CP= glue guy , Lance = bonehead cancer that could make your team implode), Lance also has an ego and will tend to iso, while most of Parsons field goals come assisted. But if it comes to Deng or Stephenson, I'd rather have the bonehead.

Apple and oranges. Boozer was not a restricted free agent. He was unrestricted

Did you mean athletic or aesthetic? Either way, you aren't wrong.

Honestly, Parsons is only a month younger than Durant and I think people are overrating his potential. Love the guy and if he can pick it up on the defensive end he might be worth the contract, but there's nothing to suggest he is going to be a great shot creator.

Houston had a chance to take the team option, keep Chandler at a low salary, use him in sign and trades for a big player like Kevin Love or rondo, or just keep him and use the salary space to sign other players to complement the roster. They could've moved Lin or Asik in trades to create more space if needed to sign a superstar. Everyone outside of Houston knew that if Parsons became a RFA teams that missed out on Lebron and Melo would pay big money to him, because he is a pretty good, versatile player who is in a FA class that is limited in quality. Morey simply did not have to risk Parsons. Now, the math becomes tougher. Morey could match, but every dollar above his 2014-15 team option that was declined takes money away from a different free agent and it necessitates unloading Asik and Lin, which hurts the team's depth.

that's only about 2.7M. the rockets are likely to use part of it on nick johnson and/or any other drafted rookie they might acquire to benefit from 3 yr contracts.

Steped away for a bit, I feel much better I'm ok with losing Parsons if it comes to that. Time to move on.

Do you understand how the cap space work?

We sign Bosh 20 mils (or a bunch of role players for 16 mils), then we match Parsons 15 mils, we will have 35 mils worth of players on the Rockets.

We let Parsons walk, we can sign max about 16-20 mils of players (depends on how much we give up).

We will lose 15 mils of player cap worth if we let Parsons walk.
