If the Rockets sign Bosh, they're using cap room. No MLE available.

the dollar value is irrelevant, the signing of the offer is the issue

even if it were $8 million/year, Houston would still have the same problem

The good thing about this is that it's just a three year contract. So if he all of the sudden starts sucking ass in year 2 or 3 then NBD.

If Leonard can play consistently like he did in the Finals this year, sure.
    Right now it's a toss-up.

I hope you're right, ATW. While Ariza may look like a decent Parsons replacement on paper (the stats are pretty close), I still recall disliking the guy while he was with the Rockets. I know the argument that he was in the wrong "role," but I'd rather go a different direction.

Hence that's exactly what I said earlier : this contract was not constructed by the Mavs, but rather looks like Cuban just told Fegan : write whatever you want, cause the Rockets going to match anyway. Haha.

Well, I truly believe that if the Rockets will match this contract (which I believe they will), Parsons will NOT finish the next 2 years in Houston and Morey will definitely trade him away.

He may even trade him to the Jazz or the Magic if Morey will have a choice.

Thanks. My mistake. So that means definitely the only good SF the Rockets can have with Bosh is Parsons.

This is aggravating for one big reason, we can no longer trade Parsons in a sign and trade to get Love. Or anyone else. Argh. Oh well, he wasn't my favorite Rocket and if we want to match, we can.

I like parsons, but he should not be paid maximum money. He a good player but not worth that money. What is he going to be a superstar in Big D, I'm not really sure.

    S&T.

We can let Parsons walk, S&T for Bosh and use our MLE to sign a wing to replace Chandler.

Maybe he simply told Morey that if he could get the same money from a team like Dallas, he'd do that before playing in the Frozen North (sorry, judo!), so a S&T to Minnie wasn't an option. Hayward's contract is what screwed Daryl's plan if he thought he could get a bit of a discount.

    Pretty much. He's overpaying.

This reminds me of the Titans in Vince Young. While acquiring Parsons makes sense like VY did, it seems like Cuban is willing to pay extra just to mess with the Rockets.

If Parsons goes to Dallas and we don't get Bosh, I'm sure we'll be worse than them for a season...but in the end he's a overpaid player at that price that they would pay for later.
