Morey had to know he was going to pay the max given how the market has been unfolding. It's the add-ons that would make things sticky.

Parsons has watched every player he started with on the team disappear; the trade kicker might well have been a sticking point between him and Morey. Plus Fegan would want the player option to line up with Dwight for extra leverage when renegotiating in two years.

For those that think we can still get bosh, it is not going to be easy. You are gong to have to complete two trades, possibly more to clear the cap, with all the physicals and paperwork, then sign bosh. All in about two days.

this may not be ideal, but Morey and his team have every possible scenario mapped out (if X, then do Y, else do Z)

this was a predictable set of events and the next steps are not being done haphazardly

He hasn't necessarily ****ed Houston out of Bosh. It all comes down to how long it take James to make a decision. He is supposely talking to his family about it.

If James decides to LEAVE Miami tomorrow, then it is most likely buisness as usual with the Rockets throwing a near max deal at Bosh and him most likely accepting it. The possible problem is that we are not probably asking Bosh to take around $19,000,000 a year instead of $21,000,000. Honestly, if Bosh says "no", at this point I just let Parsons go. Bosh is a vastly superior player.

The nightmare is that James decides to wait until the weekend to decide on Miami. Also, keep in mind, Bosh and his representatives have a fire lit under their a$$ too. They know that max offer most likely evaporates on Saturday. Bosh also cannot be happy that James will not talk to him.

In any case, this should make for an exciting 72 hours of trade activity.

And again, why are we going for Bosh? Why are we not going for Lebron James? We must have put out feelers and must have been told something that it is between Miami and Cleveland or something. Otherwises, this makes no sense.

And also again, can't blame Chandler Parsons at all for going for the most lucrative offer out there - after all, the Rockets tried to pitch a max contract to someone whose natural position is SF (Carmelo Anthony). They didn't really care about Chandler's (or Jeremy Lin's) feelings when they did that, either.

Does Parsons even have a 3 million to his name? Let the main get paid. It's unfortunate from a Rockets fan perspective that he's going to get overpaid.

AFAIK, Parsons is a 3-year player and they can't do the same gymnastics that Morey did with Asik/Lin. Worst they could do is probably pay a bunch of his first year salary as a bonus upfront.

He didnt wait till we could sign Bosh then match WHATEVER offer he gets. By signing the sheet he will screw us out of Bosh because we would have to offer him less money (about 1M less I think)

Fegan is just trying to make up for the $30m that Dwight left on the table when he decided to leave LAL. Agents gotta get paid.

If we don't get Bosh and Parson's walks we might need Lin as he's the only other playmaker we have. And he'll be expiring next year.

How do you know it was Fegan's idea? You don't think Parsons would tell his agent to get as much money as possible?

Let's be realistic. A team with only Parsons, Harden, and Howard is not going to get us to the finals. The best chance is with Harden, Howard, and another all-star calibre player.

If Parsons's contract completely prevents us from getting that all-star calibre player, Morey should just let Parsons go. Morey does not have any other option.
