Its upsetting that they couldn't work in concert to help the team get better and get paid. This power play from Fegen and Chandler could still land him back with Houston, and could hurt the team's ability to upgrade which in fact hurts Dwight Howard & Parsons ability to compete deeper in the playoffs. Its just sad that they couldn't get on the same page and work together instead of needlessly screwing each other over.

I guess Morey probably deserves some blame here as well. Maybe he had the opportunity to say they would match the offer, and get him to hold off on signing for a few days, they called his bluff, and went to Cuban.

It just sucks that they couldn't work together on this. It seems VERY avoidable if everyone is on the same page.

The trade kicker dampens the "match for the asset" advantage. So, no, it does screw the Rockets.

Cuban DOES want Parsons. Look at it like this.... the next 72 hours are going to be HUGE for teams because there are only so many quality free agents. If the Rockets take the whole 72 hours and match Parsons, the Mavericks are going to be behind the 8 ball....... they will probably not have guys like Tucker, Ariza and Deng available.

This is a gamble for both Cuban and Morey.

More like extorting Les. He's making our potential big 4 extremely expensive.

Morey treat his all of players like assets to be traded. This time, Parson is the one treating Morey like an asset.

He doesn't have to get those guys but he can add quality depth to the team. This team was solid depth and competent coaching away from being a serious contender last year. Morey can use part of that $20MM to get guys and I think he will if Bosh doesn't come but I'm just guessing of course.

BTW if the sportscenter report about Bosh coming if LeBron backs out is true the Rockets situation probably just got a lot more clear. Maybe Chandler knew this when he agreed to sign the deal.

These teams are losing their minds. First Hayward gets the max and now Parsons gets pretty much max money? Steph Curry didn't even get a max contract. LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How? He's not trading Morey. Parsons is still an asset a potentially expensive one.

Parsons has essentially ****ed us out of bosh, but we still have options. No doubt Morey matches, but we probably sign a Deng or Ariza now, or possibly trade for a rondo or Milsap with the pelicans pick.

Man ****ing parsons, what an ungrateful prick.

Parsons did the right thing. Don't know what people are angry at him for.

Ole Cuban chump ash threw a monkey wrench in our plans. Now we have 3 days to match and we know Bosh is not signing with us that quick. Wow

The only potential good thing he did was probably having management give bosh a deadline.

thanks. I mean, assuming Morey decides to match Parsons' contract, Parsons will pretty much be stuck here because of the way the contract is set up. Is that right?

I can imagine that Morey would match the offer if he can later turn Parsons contract into assets, but the opportunity cost of having Parsons and his max salary stuck here for the next 3 years is simply too much.
