I doubt very much. He knew what he was getting into when he did it. He still has the option of clearing as much space as possible over the next few days and will likely know about the Bosh decision before the deadline. The LeBron thing will have to really drag on for the Rockets to get screwed and even then I think Morey signs someone else and then matches Parsons instead of letting him walk for nothing.

You guys are way overreacting to this guy. He was so overrated. Most of parsons scores was off assists, which means he cannot create his own shots. I don't remember where I read this, Torocan can you help me out? Moreover, parsons got his points through tons of minutes played. Remember when we were all complaint that parsons was playing too many minutes and this could break him? Well guess what, it's a good thing he didn't get a serious injury like Derrick rose otherwise he'd be lucky to still stay in the league.

Anyone have his points per minute? If I remember correctly it wasn't that good. Morey knows his stats, probably knew parsons numbers were inflated and padded a bit. Played him hella minutes, allowed him to have tons of shot attempts etc, now he's got a fat contract somewhere else. Cuban Bit the bait. Morey helped parsons, end of story.

Expect a Lin trade later today or tomorrow. If Morey misses out on Bosh, I'm guessing he'll let Parsons walk and go after some other pieces.

    Exactly. Ain't over yet.

Maybe it's a swing and a miss, but I'm glad they went to bat either way. Still could knock it out of the park.

I hope Morey matches, then calls Cuban to inquire about trading for Dirk.

Agree to disagree. Morey got served on this plain and simple. He's either going to lose Parsons for nothing or have to overpay for him, and I frankly just don't see Bosh as the silver lining either way. As for it being a bad move for Dallas, I just don't see the downside. At the end of his contract, Parsons should be in his prime. There is almost no risk at all to this from a Dallas perspective.

We could have had Parsons under contract next year for $1 million AND could have been an attractive asset during the upcoming trade deadline. Why don't people understand this?

Why let Chandler walk? You can sign players with the cap space you created by trading Lin and Asik and then match Parsons deal.

Hayward just got a max deal and Parsons is better than him. Also look at what the market's been like this offseason. Channing Frye gets $32 million for 4 years. This is not a surprise that Chandler is getting paid!

Not to be a Debbie Downer, but even IF Lebron walks to Cleveland, there is NO guarantee we get Bosh.

Yes, we're the alternate landing spot right now, but if Lebron walks, then the Heat can not only offer Bosh a max contract, they can even add a 5th year if they so choose.

Given that we have no tax advantage over Florida, there is a variety of contracts that the Heat can create that can either match or exceed our bid if Lebron falls off the books.

Anything from 4 years/$88M+ - 5 years/$120M+ is possible. And that includes reduced annual 5 year contracts like 5 years/$100M+ as well as promises of taking care of him once he's done playing (as a legacy Heat player).

There's a lot of permutations right now, and depending on how much clout Riley has with Bosh we can see all kinds of potential outcomes, especially since now Riley can point at Parsons and say,

"How do you know they'll keep Parsons? And even if they do keep Parsons, how are they going to build any depth with Asik and Lin gone and the team about to go over the Tax Apron?"

This can get really, really ugly very quickly if the chips don't land right.

Why? Because he isn't worth the 15m per year. When Morey said he was looking for a 3rd star, Parsons wasn't who he had in mind.

And by trading Lin/Asik - the Rockets have about 20m in cap space. Parsons will take up 75% of that.

Add up the 4 players salary and see how close you are to the 80.5 million apron.

If LBJ walks, 95% BOSH goes back to Miami, no way Miami tank right away on easy east. And Morey knew it already.
