To say I'm terrified of how badly the Rockets ended up in this free agency would be an understatement.

Get to stay in a great city like Miami and not have to move his family.
They just went to 4 finals in a row together.
A lot of blood, sweat and tears together.
    2 championships won together.

I think Bosh deserves the right to try and see if the Heat will continue on.

Oh boy! Morey has got to give Bosh the ultimatum now! Now that Parsons has started the major FA signing process in action by signing that contract, if Bosh wants to play here with our core guys, he's got to do it by tomorrow morning before the cap hold takes effect. Losing Parsons will hurt a lot especially if Bosh wants to come and be a top Western team.

You do realize that it isn't actually over yet don't you?

    Lowry/Gortat/Hayward/McBob/Meeks/Granger/Dirk

Are you upset about any of those other than Lowry & Dirk not being a Rocket cause that is pretty much the only FA's that are a done deal as of now?

Best case scenario, the Rockets end up with a FA signing in the next 48 hours, and resign Parsons. Les goes into lux tax territory yes, but it shouldn't really matter to the fans. Maybe even sign a couple vet min contracts that are great value.

Worst case scenario #1, the Rockets bring the whole gang back from last year, re-sign Parsons, and take a step forward to being a good team again. Maybe they can still compete if Parsons earns his contract and Harden takes another step forward. Also have young guys like Jones, Capela, Canaan, Cov, etc. that could be surprisingly good.

Result- Still highly competitive team but capped out. Trades are a possibility to upgrade but not likely. Most likely have to find a diamond in the rough to get a 3rd star.

    Worst case scenario #2-

Let Parsons go, make due with team for year with mix and matched pieces. Become major player in 2015 free agency. Could easily have 21+ million to work with next summer to bring in max free agent.

It could either be great or it could be very bad. I guess we'll find out. Hopefully Lebron helps us out and bolts to Cleveland.

Worse thing about this. Lebron still has to meet with Cleveland presumably.

Even if he's sure he's going to sign there you'd think he'd still have to meet with them.

Hell, there is still a chance he resigns any ways with the Heat. Rockets have to put the pressure on Bosh somehow so that Bosh can call up his booty buddy and tell him that his indecision is affecting his decision too. Otherwise Lebron could be a good 5 days away from his ESPN special.

I wonder what would Morey/Rockets do if Lebron still hasn't made a decision by 10 pm July 12, which of course means neither has Bosh. Will Morey wait and lose Parsons or would he forgo the Bosh possibility and match the Parson offer.

I think you have to let him go. He's not worth that money period and you could still maybe make a run at Deng/Ariza who are about as good as Parsons any ways.

It would just mean no big move this off season.

Is it delusionally optimistic to think Parsons knows Melo is coming to H-Town and so the best thing is for him to go play the starter SF somewhere else???

Does anyone else see the possibility of Parsons' offer sheet adding leverage to the Rockets' pursuit of Bosh? We can now tell Bosh that we will match the offer for Parsons and if he wants his max $$$ he must commit before the three day window for us to match before the offer sheet expires.

Deng and Ariza are not major downgrades from Parsons but they are also 4 years older than him as well. Give me Parsons at 15 mil over either of those two at 13 mil. If Bosh doesn't say yes to the deal by Friday, you pull the offer and put money into your bench then you match the Parsons sheet.
