Last years... We needed Dwight badly to make us a serious play-off team in the west.. also, it looked like Dwight was deciding between us and LA (with some minor concern about GSW).... felt so good to get Dwight... ill be excited for Bosh but getting Dwight in FA was big time
Why would Wade opt out If Lebron is leaving? Is LBJ that cold blooded that he got one of his best friends to opt out of guaranteed money, only to turn around and leave him and his teammates for CLE?
It's very possible that at that lunch Lebron told them that he was exploring his options and had decided to opt out and they should do what they think is best for them. There's no reason to actually believe Lebron "got them to opt out" by being disingenuous with them. Heck, after speaking with Lebron over the weekend Bosh had his agent reach out to the Rockets.
What if Wade takes a paycut and joins LBJ in a S+T for Dion Waiters? I think it would be best for all parties.
If he gets 4 years and 55 million then he is making more than he would have. He'll get his $40 million plus an additional $15 that he isn't worth.
I don't think Wade is leaving. I think his opt-out was more a of a "restructure", even though that is not really something that happens in the NBA. But, look at it this way... Wade was due about $40 million over the next two years. It's clear that he is on the decline and won't get another big contract after that. The Heat will sign him to a 3 or 4 year deal amounting to $40 million or slightly more in an effort to lower his yearly cap figure. I firmly believe that is why he opted out - he had word from the Heat that they would take care of him. Whether or not Lebron will be with him, that's a different story...
Pat and the heat have CLASS, they will offer wade a solid 3-4 yr deal, probably $15 per... They will take care of haslem also even if it's a in the office with the organization.
I've been wondering about this for awhile. I'm curious as to just what was said between the big 3 before they all made their decisions. It will probably come out eventually.
