All these tweets about Cavs backup plans are total bull****. They could've held off until LeBron made his decision publically. they could've pursued Ariza or Parsons without this move. With this move, the only money they're clearing enough for is someone making $20+mil max. That's either LeBron, Melo, or Bosh. Three guesses which one makes most sense.
They had enough cap room for Parsons already even before the trade. They didn't need to "clear room" for Parsons.

I would love it if there is a leak that Lebron announces he is going to Cleveland...only for an hour later a leak to come out that he's 50/50 on his decision. Would be epic
They're in a similar situation to what we were in before Harden trade. They need "the guy" that's going to make someone want to come to Cleveland. For them, Lebron is probably the only "the guy" they have though lol. You either swing for the fences now, or keep middling along until Uncle Drew's contract is up and he bolts. What do you really lose?
