damn. bad move by the rockets part, I can see friedman's efficiency increase in an outlet that uses his talent more, since he knows a lot more than just basketball. Here, we already have jonathan feigen who has seniority and john mcclain for foosball. but if friedman is leaving on his own accord, dude is about to get ppaaaaaid!

Best damn beat writer in the game. One of his tweets he acknowledges he'll have more free time, so it might be by choice
From this, it sounds like he's taking up a job writing about something other than sports. He'll be missed. He made Rockets.com a worthwhile place to go and learn about the team.
He was very dedicated to the Rockets. He is a fine writer, and a very nice gentleman. I wonder why, he is leaving the organization now. I wish him great success in his future.
Wow. I was wondering the other day where he's been lately (been super quiet). Its a pretty big shame that they are either having to let him go, or he is quitting. I would have to speculate his exit started when the Rockets got majorly fined for his free agency columns. After that, he and the Rockets had to know that his work would then from that point be way too watered down for as good of a writer & analyst that he has the talent to be doing. Its a sad day for the Rockets to lose such a talent, but I have a feeling that this isn't the last we will see of Jason. I would have to guess that he's going to be joining on somewhere else, and he's probably going to be able to contribute much much more than he would have been able to as an official member of the Houston Rockets. Jason, you will be missed. Don't go too far please.
I know he got married not too long ago. He might needed a break. Either way, we lost a great person that provided a lot of knowledge for us fans.
What I liked about Jason was he was a fan before he worked for them. If I remember correctly, he was a posting member in the BBS before he got the job with the Rockets. In fact, I think he was posting here before he was working at his job before the Rockets which was the Houston Press.
