The cap is expected to be 83 mil in 2016. Who cares!

How much cap space does Dallas have now anyway, I don't think they've renounced Marion or VC yet right?

Morey takes risks, to an extreme level, Golden State doesn't seem as inclined.

Lol..Parsons wasn't sticking around next year. He'll be cool with it now because he gets a 14 million raise a year early, but tell know damn well a guy like him wasn't staying in Houston , if he had a choice.

    hmm

How so? He has made an offer for Howard at first that was big but Howard said he wouldn't sign with us. So he didn't do it. Morey made the trade with OKC but it was because Harden would sign with us at max. Love on the other hand has said he would not sign until after the season is over. He also has let it before known that he wanted to go to the west coast. It just sounds foolhardy to throw away assets on a possible 1 year rental.

No way we should keep Parsons if it means getting 14-15 million year, he's not that good...

He was willing to trade for Dwight even though Dwight had said he wouldn't re-sign with us at all, Harden was more luck than anything.

It doesn't matter if he's "that good" or not, he can't be replaced with a minimum contract guy and that's all the Rockets will have if they sign Bosh or whatever. He might be overpaid, but he's a valuable piece to what they are hoping is a championship team.

This is a nice write-up by David Locke (radio voice of the Jazz) that describes why they will match the offer sheet.

What is worth noticing is that the same arguments can be used for Chandler. Thus, it is almost a given that he's getting the max; if not the Mavs, then Charlotte or Cavs (if no Lebron)

Well, guess we're going to see some really interesting offers on Parsons once the Lebron and Melo fall out settles.

    Fun ride ahead... not.

SNT Parsons seems a legit possibility now. I like Covington's chance.

More of a rationalization for doing something dumb.

That is true....with the assumption that Parsons and Morey don't already have a deal.

Teams can talk to Parsons all they want. If he doesn't sign an offer sheet with them, it doesn't matter.

It will be a test for Parsons though, to see how much he and Morey have negotiated this before and how committed he is to this team versus his own paycheck. And honestly, I wouldn't even be able to blame him for if he looked into leaving to a team that foolishly wanted to give him a max deal.

I wonder if Rockets will match offer sheet if someone offer parsons the max.

Yea I like Parsons but not for 14 million a year. The small forward position is probably one of the easiest to fill. Especially if the Rockets get a point guard to let run the offense instead of Harden and Parsons.

    Damn, worst case scenario.

    We miss out on Bosh.

Forced to sign Chandler to a max contract, or we don't match and lose him.

    Either way its a disaster.

The only reason to make someone a RFA is if you intend to keep them, otherwise you let them play and become an UFA and deal with it then.

I would be shocked if the Rockets don't keep him at all costs - you don't let talent walk away for nothing - and Chandler is a talented player.

Les made $29 million on the team last year, he can pay some Lux tax if necessary.
